I got about seven and a half hours of sleep last night, ran on the
elliptical when I woke up, and then went to work. I was on desk for
two hours when I got to work and I answered a lot of phone calls. I
also talked to my boss and one of the other librarians about the new
workroom. But I spent most of my time reading articles and catching
up on emails.
I was then off desk for an hour and took that time to refill my DVD
and Mystery displays, got more printer paper, and hung up a notice
near the tax information from the IRS about potentially out of date
forms and finding the correct information online.
I had a walkthrough and then I was on desk for another hour. I spent
most of my free time answering questions on a tech quiz. There were
some pretty tricky ones so I didn't actually come close to finishing
it.
After dinner I was on desk for an hour. I helped patrons and
answered phone calls, but I mostly worked on the tech quiz. That
involved playing with the copier a lot and looking things up online.
Then I had two walkthroughs. I talked to my Mom and sister because
they stopped in for the book sale. My Mom also brought me bread from
Panera, so that was pretty cool. I also went and played with the
scanner in order to answer one of the tech quiz questions. My boss
said the answer was in the scanner tutorial, but I couldn't find that
anywhere, so I played around and made my best guess as to what she
wanted, which has kind of been my technique for most of the
questions.
Not long before we closed I was informed by the custodian that there
was a box for me in the mailroom, so I went down to grab it, and it
ended up being 1040A instruction books as well as 1040A forms. We
didn't have those forms yet, so that was good, and now we're just
waiting on the 1040 form. Also, right before we closed, I quickly
made a printed the room schedules for the weekend, because I forgot
that was a thing we're doing on Friday nights now. I had just enough
time to make the schedule but didn't have time to add in our logo to
signify library events before printing it. Life will go on.
When I got home I ate bread and watched YouTube videos and
livestreams. And after a lot more deliberation, and a few
modifications to my shopping cart, I ordered my new pens and pencils.
In the near-ish future my order will arrive and hopefully I will be
super impressed with my over-engineered, inexpensive mechanical
pencil.
And now it is after midnight because I have been incredibly
distracted while writing this entry. Tomorrow I'm going to play more
Subnautica, maybe some CoD: WW2, and I might go to the
book sale with my Mom and sister if the weather doesn't live up to
the forecasted freezing rain. If it does, Sunday is looking nice,
and the already cheap books will be even cheaper. But now, I'm going
to record my audio journal and go to bed.
