Last night I got six hours of sleep, which didn't seem like enough,
probably because it wasn't. I didn't run on the elliptical because
when I got up my left knee was a bit achy and I didn't want to push
it. I did get up and out of bed though, just so I can stay in the
habit of that. It was far too easy to slip back into staying in bed
in the morning, rather than getting up and exercising. With that
extra time I watched videos until I got ready for work.
I did the usual weekend opening stuff but I had to count the drawer
with the assistant because that's the new procedure. It's weird, and
I don't think we fully accomplished the purpose of doing it together
because after she double-checked my totals she left to do her usual
opening stuff, leaving me alone with the money. I think that is what
we're trying to avoid, even though there's a camera in the room
watching us.
I was on desk for the first two hours and it took me awhile to do
anything productive. I caught up on emails, answered phone calls,
and read news articles. I also tweaked the Excel file for the
printed schedule and one of the reports for making the schedule
because now we are printing the weekend schedule on Friday night,
instead of Saturday morning. So I had to change the formula for the
automatic dates on the weekend schedule, and made a new report that
will show us Sunday events (when we're printing it on Friday). Then
I had a walkthrough and continued working on my homebound lists.
I had lunch up in the cubicle because that's what I do on Saturday.
I read a little bit and watched a couple Neebs Gaming videos. Not a
bad way to spend a lunch hour.
After lunch I was on desk for another two hours. I helped the
occasional patron but I mostly just worked on my homebound lists. I
managed to finish them so when I was off desk I was able to go out
and pull all of the books. Then I checked them out, made the
bookmarks, put the bookmarks in the books, and got them bagged up. I
didn't think I'd be able to get that far today, so that was a nice
surprise. All I need to do tomorrow is update all of my spreadsheets
and I'll be good to go.
When I got home I made another veggie sandwich. I toasted the bread
this time and that was a bit of a mistake because it kind of tore up
the roof of my mouth. But it tasted good, and that is what's
important.
While I ate dinner I watched videos. Then I played a little CoD:
WW2 long enough to a bunch of crates from daily orders and
contracts, and then I tried out ABZU for the first time. It
is a very chill game. I'm not exactly sure what the point is, I
haven't really looked into the game beyond the visuals, but it was
fun to swim around.
Now it is late once again, so I'm going to wrap this up, record my
audio journal, and go to bed. I have Staxel going in the
background so the days can pass, and that has been distracting, but
now I have finished this, before one o'clock, and I'm going to count
that as a win.
