Today a kindergartener told me that his class had a pizza party. I
told him that I wanted a pizza party and he told me that I should
work on being a kid and earn one. Can't argue with that.
I started scanning my grandma's pictures today in between classes. I
was doing pretty good until the end when I kind of lost track of
where I was and I think I scanned some a couple times. And I'm not
quite sure which ones I haven't scanned, if I did miss some, which
I'm pretty sure I did. I scanned seven or eight at a time and now
I'm going through and cutting out the individual pictures. When I
get done with that I can compare them to the physical photos so I can
figure out what I'm missing. And then do a better job in the future
of keeping track of what I have and have not scanned. When I get
this first round of pictures sorted out I'll send them off to my
grandma so she can comment on them. I am ignoring all the editing
until later because that will be a really long process. These were
all the loose pictures and next I will need to move onto the photo
albums, which will be a bit tricky.
I was given another project today. Earlier in the year I cut out a
bunch of word cards and then punched a hole in them so they could be
put on a ring. And now I get to do it again. This time is a little
worse, though. The first cards were all touching, so I just had to
make one cut to separate cards and cut them out. This time there is
a gap between all the cards so I'll have to make several more cuts.
I got a start on it and it sucks. I'll finish it sometime.
Speaking of finishing, I got all my pie charts laid out and delivered
them to the teachers. Still haven't decided on another visualization
of that data and at this point I probably won't, but there's still a
chance.
There was a third grade performance today, football/sports-themed,
and it was pretty good. There was choreography so it was an instant
winner in my book. At one point there was a robot dance breakdown
and a couple of the kids had some moves.
I didn't have a visit with the new volunteer kid today. I texted him
but never heard back. Not surprised by that. Also not surprising,
no school work was completed tonight. I spent a lot of time cutting
out some of the photos I scanned today. I made it up to fifty and
that was a little over halfway, I think. This is going to be a very
big project.
This
weekend, for real, I'm going to have to crack down on school work.
At this point I'm behind on everything except discussion posts for my
research class (only because we didn't have one this week). I need
to catch up on both of my group projects and make significant
progress on my reflective journal entries. I need to do all of the
things. Super bad.
