October 17, 2014

Today was not very exciting at all. So in that sense, it was pretty much like all of my days. I got to sleep in and then I spent most of my day working on grad school stuff. That is pretty surprising. I started by reading the rest of the chapter for my research class, watching the video lecture, and writing my discussion post. It's a pretty solid entry. I haven't actually posted it yet, however, because I want to watch the video lecture again and see if I can come up with anything to write about it.

I then started my first article for the newspaper project. And I nearly finished it. Unless I want to continue it on a second page, which I'm not sure about. I still need to come up with another article. I'm thinking it is going to be a reporter talking to old people who aren't likely to use the internet to read newspapers. That will be done tomorrow. Or mostly done.

Along with finishing the newspaper, I also need to find some goddamn articles for my other group project. Twelve to fifteen articles to be slightly more precise. And then write short annotated bibliographies for them. That is going to require a whole bunch of reading, which I will complain about, but right now I really want to get to that stage. We can't really do the project if we don't have any articles.

It was a pretty nice day outside so while I sat in my room and worked on stuff I had my window open to at least get a little fresh air. My window is a lot easier to open compared to my one at the old house so I might need to start doing that more often. Although the weather is starting to get a bit chilly so who knows how many opportunities I'll have.

Tonight I spent time looking at potential desks from Ikea. The cable company now has small marker flags in our yard, which seems to be a good sign. Maybe in the next couple of weeks we'll finally have internet at the new house. When that happens, I'll need to move my computer over and finally get my second room set up. Right now I think I want to get two desks and have them in an L-shape set up.

And now, once again, it is way too late for me to be up. So I'm going to stop typing so I can drive back to the new house and go to bed. So I can wake up in the morning, or close to it, and continue working on grad school stuff.
