Today was a pretty laid back day and I am okay with that. I finished
reading a textbook chapter before lunch and responded to a discussion
post but then I took the rest of the day off from schoolwork. I may
regret that later but preparing for my presentation this weekend, and
spending most of my weekend out of town, was enough school for me.
I'll jump back in tomorrow.
I didn't really do anything with the rest of my day. I watched the
livestream for the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. I listened to it
on the radio going to class and coming back, and watched the
livestream last night and all day today. It was interesting seeing
the differences in production from the guys on the side stage and the
guys on the main stage. The main stage shows are over the top. It's
pretty incredible. I would like to go to a show sometime. Even if
you're not into EDM it just seems like something everyone should
experience at least once. The festival ended with Skrillex, who had
cameos from Puff Daddy and Justin Bieber. Crazy. His set was
definitely better before those two came out but to each their own.
I had thought about livestreaming some Minecraft tonight but
didn't because I wanted to watch the Ultra livestream and didn't want
to mess with setting up my laptop to I could watch the Ultra stream
on that and then play and stream Minecraft on my PC. The
point of that being that I wouldn't have the Ultra music on my
stream. Not that anyone watches my stream but it would most likely
get content IDed and the whole thing would get muted. So instead, I
watched the Ultra stream and just played Minecraft without
streaming it.
I basically just did the preliminary work for a future stream. I had
the idea that I wanted to start a new world, a Stream World, and
keeping with that theme, I wanted to build my house near a stream.
Clever stuff. So I created a new world and went looking for a
stream. And I got super lucky. There were a couple streams really
close to my spawn point and a good mix of biomes. I decided to build
my house on a little hill in the bend of one of the streams. I want
to do the actual building while I'm streaming but I did level off the
hill and laid out dirt as a kind of rough outline for the house. A
decent start. It was also nice to just zone out for awhile and
wander around in Minecraft. Zoning out is good after a long
week. With another long one ahead of me. Can't wait.
