I forgot to mention I talked to the school librarian yesterday and
she said there might be a job in one of the school libraries this
summer. They are open during the month of June and a few of them may
still need someone to cover. I haven't heard anything about the
practicum yet but I doubt the theater will be a thing and the library
would only be four hours a day, four days a week. So that, with two
classes, would still leave plenty of time for a practicum. And it
would give me something to put on my resume.
Today I was expecting three tests, two in the morning and one in the
afternoon, but the last one was canceled so my afternoon was better
than expected. The testing was a little rough, not in terms of
mechanics, but because pretty much all the kids struggled with the
math. It was painful to watch. And really it has only just begun
because the full classes start testing next week. Then testing will
continue until May. Testing blows.
In my free time I edited baby pictures. I also found a track listing
for the Harry Potter audiobook chapters. Now I can go through and
chop up the first book so I don't get hours into it and have it reset
again. And I made some desktop icons for the library clerk's
computer.
At the end of the day we had our monthly character award assembly.
At the end of it several teachers and staff went to the front and had
a pie thrown in their face by one of the students. Early in the year
students (their parents) were able to bid on the opportunity to throw
the pies. The kids love. The ones not throwing the pies probably
enjoy it more than the pie kids. They went nuts. It was pretty
entertaining.
Tonight I worked on a script for the website tour portion of my
instructional presentation. I can very close to finishing it.
Tomorrow I should be able to finish it and run through everything to
see what my timing is like. Hopefully close to fifteen minutes but
not close enough that I'll accidentally go over when I start to
ramble. And not so short that it becomes super short when I talk
fast and forget most of what I planned on saying.
Tomorrow I also need to submit my first discussion post of the week,
because those are thing again. I'm ready for a break from school,
which won't come until the semester is over. After the instructional
presentation this weekend, I still have my group project in that
class, a solo project in that class, and my group project in the
other class. It feels like so much work. Probably because it is a
lot of work. I need to work on my time management.
Right now I'm watching Goldy, Vern, and the rest of their crew play
through the last heist in GTA5. There still in the setup
missions so I'm not going to make it to the end because I'm going to
call it a night soon. But I'll be able to catch the recorded streams
later. Something to look forward to.
