September 8, 2013

If you have two Olympic-sized swimming pools and put a tablespoon of sugar into one of them, a dog would be able to detect the difference. Fun fact.

Today was a typical laid back Sunday. Kind of like all the others. I watched The Secret Of Nimh this morning and it was... interesting. Definitely an eighties cartoon, so I liked the animation style, but it was a very loose interpretation of the book. I would like to see a more faithful adaptation. At least one that doesn't involve the use of magic. The best part of the movie was Jeremy the crow, voiced by Dom DeLuise. Giving Jeremy a slightly bigger part and making him the comic relief was the one change from the book that I approved of.

I really wanted to played some video games today, and I came close to playing The Walking Dead, but ended up just playing Saints Row 4 for a little bit. I made a bunch of money, finished a few more challenges and realized there are some I will probably never get, and I found the coolest car in the game. The Relic. It is parked by the airport and I have never seen it driving around the streets so it makes me wonder if there are other cars out there that are “secrets” and only parked in one place. I had to delete a car from my garage but it was worth it. It has the option to have a giant exposed engine that shoots fire when you hit the boost. Totally badass.

Tonight I watched a couple comedy specials on Netflix, did my laundry, and added more music to the USB thumb drive I keep in my car. Kill The Noise and Royal Teeth. Good stuff. So I'm getting my money out of Netflix and I am undermining the money I spent on XM radio in my car. Even if I did get it at a considerable discount. But I can take a break from it every now and then. If I'm in the mood for either of those when I'm in my car.

And now it is getting ever closer to my bedtime. And it is feeling like it. I am looking forward to a fun-filled week of MAP testing, safety drills, and picture day. It'll be a long week. But I think Wednesday is early-release, so there's that. I preferred when they were on Friday like last year but apparently parents complained or something because they thought teachers just wanted an early start to their weekend. Nice parents.
