Yesterday I forgot to mention I found my last bill from T-Mobile.
They mailed it and I'm pretty sure it arrived after it was due, and
even when it did arrive I didn't pay any attention to it because it
was dressed up like a promotional thing, not a bill. But I
discovered it yesterday and saw that it was six days overdue. And
then I got a call from T-Mobile, or a robot on T-Mobile's behalf,
giving me a number to call but no explanation as to why I should call
the number. So I called the number and it ended up being customer
service. If I hadn't already left T-Mobile I probably would have
left after this call.
I talked to “Mike” and it sounded like it only started to learn
English last week. And I mean no offense by that because I can only
speak one language so I envy anyone who can even kind of speak a
second language. But combining broken English with an incredibly
thick accent makes for a poor customer service representative. And
on top of that, it sounded like he was using the headset that came
with with Xbox360, so the microphone quality was very crackly and it
must have been practically inside his mouth because when he wasn't
speaking all I could hear was his loud breathing.
All of this combined to make me less than secure in my feelings about
the legitimacy of the phone call. And he had no reason why I was
calling and couldn't understand my explanation for why I thought I
was calling. I think he ended up asking if I wanted to pay my bill
and then asked for my credit card number. At which point I said I
would just send a check because I didn't feel comfortable telling him
my credit card number. So I mailed that off today and I will have to
keep my eyes open for the bill with the overdue charge. And
hopefully pay it on time so I can be done with T-Mobile.
Today there were three MAP tests and they went without incident. So
it was really boring. I got to go to reading centers with second
grade today for the first time this week. I had one good group and
then one not so good group but it was a nice change from being stuck
in the computer lab watching kids take tests. Other than that, I
fixed a few laptop issues (and got paid in two peanut butter cups for
one of them, which I accepted even though I'm still not eating
candy), working on my spreadsheet, added my shortcut thing to the two
computers that were fixed yesterday, and that was pretty much it.
Tonight at work I started reading The Shadow Of The Wind by
Carlos Ruiz Zafon and worked on my letter to my friend. I didn't
make it that far into the book, under fifty pages I think, but I am
liking it so far. I am also thinking of relearning Morse Code
because I was looking through so of the old art I did with it and I
still think there is a lot of potential there. We'll see.
