My morning wasn't too exciting. One might say it was a typical
Sunday. I played more Battlefield 3 and
enjoyed myself, except for the game of Rush where I blew up two
M-COMS, including the one that got my team out of the first area on
Metro, and we were on our way to the last two M-COMS when the game
froze. I don't know why but in really long games there is always the
risk of the game freezing. It kind of sucks. But, it is still a fun
game. And one of my favorite parts is the sound. Sound-whoring used
to be a big deal in CoD
games because you could tell where the bad guys were by the sound of
their footsteps. That really isn't a thing in Black Ops 2
but the sound design is really good in Battlefield 3.
I was able to kill a guy in Gun Master because I heard him loading
his shotgun on the other side of the wall. The one flaw in the
sound is that on muli-level maps it is hard to tell if you're hearing
someone on your floor or the floor above you. Hopefully that will be
better in the new game.
I didn't accomplish a lot today but
this afternoon I eventually got around to going shopping. I went to
Target because I needed some things, including stuff to make food.
And with some of those ingredients I made a pretty simple, but good
dinner tonight. Penne pasta with artichoke hearts in a tomato sauce
and steamed broccoli. Yum. If I make it again I would probably make
the sauce because for the first time in years I bought it in a jar,
and the jar was cool, but I'm not a big fan of jarred sauce. It's
always too sweet. Or something. I also bought brussel sprouts
because I have wanted to try them for awhile now and have yet to get
around to it. I found a recipe to saute them but that involved
actual garlic, which I didn't buy, so instead I am going to try
roasting them, because they look really good roasted. I just hope
they taste good. Everyone in my family who has had brussel sprouts
basically think they are the worst thing ever, and I generally trust
their opinion, but I keep telling myself they just haven't had them
made the right way. Hopefully. I'll find out soon enough. Maybe
tomorrow.
After dinner I made more tortilla
chips and did my laundry. I also watched most of the Emmy's,
ignoring the things I perceived to be the boring bits. I also might
not see the end, depending on whether or not it runs long because I
will be going to bed at ten o'clock. I am looking forward to the
last week of MAP testing, and a shortened week thanks to not having
school on Friday for some reason. I am not looking forward to going
another week without a haircut. I really should start cutting my own
hair. That would save me twenty bucks every few weeks and I wouldn't
have to rely one someone else's schedule to get my haircut. I'll
think about it. Until I forget.
