September 24, 2013

It is now ten o'clock and I want to sleep so this will not be a long entry.

There was more MAP testing today and the one fifth grader who has had to come down several times to work on her tests finally finished both of them today. I think they both ended up taking her about two hours each, which is well above average, but her scores were good so whatever works I guess. At one point during her reading test she was sitting on the ground, looking up at the computer screen. Yeah.

I decided to be productive during the MAP testing today so I relearned Morse Code. It is much easier the second time around. I didn't really remember more than a few letters but it came back pretty quickly. We'll have to see how long I retain it this time. I want to actually realize the craft project I kind of started the first time I learned Morse Code.

After school I went and got batting for my cross stitch and tonight I had my mom iron it. It still looks kind of wrinkly, which is annoying because it wasn't wrinkly before I washed it, but I think those will go away when I stretch it over the foam board to mount it. Hopefully anyway. I want to do that tomorrow but my sister will be around for Chipotle night so I don't know. It definitely isn't going to be done by her birthday. I kind of screwed that up. But our craft projects tend to be delayed gifts so I don't think she'll hold it against me.

I forgot all about it, and so did my supervisor, but apparently there is a court hearing on Thursday for my volunteer thing, so I spent my night writing my report for it. It really isn't that exciting considering nothing is really going on with the case. Though the new volunteer kid did pick a perfect time to get caught drinking, right before he is already scheduled to go to court. I think it is just a review hearing and I doubt I need to be there but I am going to see if the principal can find someone to cover for me on Thursday. The hearings are usually pretty quick (it takes longer waiting for them to start) and I should be back before testing starts, but the sixth graders will probably come in early because there are a few of them that are really slow test takers. Several of them only got halfway done today and on Thursday they won't have the luxury of taking two days to finish their Math test.
