This week seemed to take forever but then it was Friday. Very
strange.
There was only one state assessment this morning and we ended up with
four tests that will have to be reset, but none of them in the lab
because I am awesome. I grabbed the test tickets I needed early but
the individual testers ended up with the wrong tickets. It didn't
take long to sort it all out and when the principal is back on Monday
she can get the tickets reset so they will be ready to go when those
tests roll around.
Other than the one test I didn't really have a lot going on today
outside of the usual classes coming to the lab. I went and installed
Reading Counts on all of the second grade laptops. It's usually
third grade that comes to the lab to take those tests but now the
second graders won't have to worry about coming down. My second
grade literacy group went relatively well. They acted like second
graders but not second graders after a gallon of Red Bull, so that
was good.
Tonight was the school talent show. It was pretty cool. There was
some decent talent, also some not so decent talent, but overall it
was pretty cute. It opened with one family of kids doing there
version of Harlem Shake,
which included their recently adopted Asian little sister who really
got into it. There was a first grader who sang Grand Old
Flag and she was waving a little flag but she was nervous and
never raised the flag above her waist. There was a kindergartener,
who is normally pretty reserved, set up behind half a drum set and
she told jokes with her mom, doing the drum hit thing after each
joke. That was pretty good. There was also a third grader who did
the Gangnam Style parody, Minecraft Style,
and he wore a box over him that was painted like a Minecraft
character in a tuxedo. And there was an entire third grade class,
including the teacher, that got up and did a Three Little
Pigs rap.
It is an hour past my bedtime and I
have been tired for the last two hours so I am going to go to bed.
I'm not sure what I will do tomorrow before work but I hope it
involves video games. It has been awhile.
