Another day, three more tests. Three more boring tests. We have
only just begun and I already can't wait for it to be over. I feel
so useless just standing there watching kids take their tests. I
have nothing else to do but I feel like I should be doing anything
else.
This morning we had the staff photo in the library. I am in the back
row between the PE teacher and one of the paras or student interns
(I'm not sure which). It took awhile for everyone to show up and for
the photographer to get set up. On the home stretch one of the third
grade teachers reminded everyone to “show the girls” and “push
your sternum out”. Hilarious.
My last class of the day was fourth grade and they came in to take
more tutorials for the state assessment. The teacher wanted them to
do the one with audio because it reads all the on-screen instructions
and you just click along but that one wasn't working for most people
so they had to go with the non-audio version. This meant the kids
actually had to read the instructions and that was pretty much a
fail. A lot of kids were flying through just clicking on stuff and
most of them were completely clueless as to what to do when they
finished, even though the teacher told all of them multiple times.
It almost felt like the whole class was trolling her. At one point
she came back and asked me if I had ever thought about taking a pair
of headphones from one of the computers and wrapping it around my
neck. She was having a long day and after being with her class for
half an hour I could relate.
After work I went and rented a bunch of DVDs for the first time in
awhile and then I went and got Jimmy John's and Chipotle. The first
half of my burrito was delicious and I am looking forward to the
second half. I haven't gone back to verify this but it seems like
Chipotle has been on a role lately.
Tonight I edited my court report and sent that to my supervisor and
wrote my monthly report and sent that off. I'm really glad I wrote
my court report last night because it was nice not really having to
worry about that tonight. It was like those days in school when I
would actually do my homework when I got it, not right before it was
due. That was a rare occurrence but it was always nice when it
happened and I could just relax while everyone else was stressing
out.
I probably won't go to bed for a little bit but I am looking forward
to it. It will come sooner rather than later.
