Today was another day of break. I would say I'm kind of tired of it
and ready to go back to work but I have to work tomorrow night and
Saturday night at the theater and I have absolutely no interest in
doing that. I hate that place and I need out.
My main accomplishment for the day was finishing my letter to my
friend. At least the typed version. I still need to write it down
on paper but I can do that tomorrow. Or some other time. The point
is I finished the content of the letter.
I also started reading the next book club book, The Distance
Between Us by Reyna Grande,
because we are meeting on Tuesday I believe. I only have about 275
pages to go. So I might be going to book club. I should be able to
knock out some large chunks at the theater tomorrow and Saturday so
that is one benefit to be trapped at a pointless job for six to nine
hours at a time. In reality I have plenty of time to read 275 pages
by Tuesday but finding the motivation to do so will be the hard part.
Tonight I should have gone to visit
the new volunteer kid but I couldn't get ahold of him. I called
twice and the second time it went to voicemail after only a few rings
so it was obvious someone knew I was calling and pushed it to
voicemail. So I said screw it.
I went and got gas and then took the
fifteen mile scenic route home because I wanted to drive a little and
listen to music. When I got home I played some Battlefield
3. I did a pretty awful job at
CTF so I didn't even want to try Air Superiority. I ended on a high
note when I took the cheap way out and start leaving mines near the
flag and randomly on the road. I probably got ten kills that way,
several of them double kills when two dudes on a motorcycle trying to
get the flag would run over them. I felt kind of bad about it but it
is a genuine tactic in CTF, regardless of how cheap it is, and it is
kind of satisfying seeing a whole bunch of kills and points pop up on
the screen when I'm just running around aimlessly.
I'm not sure what's on the agenda
for tomorrow, other than work at the theater. I might replace smoke
detector batteries. That is something that is probably long overdue.
