Last night I got ten and a half hours of sleep. It was awesome and
exactly what I needed after yesterday. I woke up feeling much
better, though it still hurts my head if I cough or sneeze, so I've
been trying to avoid both of those things. I was even able to run on
the elliptical for eleven minutes without an issue. Not a bad way to
start the day.
I didn't go in until 1:30PM, because I work the weekend, and I spent
the first half hour kind of on desk and then the next hour on really
on desk. I updated a couple stat spreadsheets, adding sheets for
2018, because that's the year we're in now. I also helped a patron
print something and helped another patron find city ordinances. And
I read articles, because that has become a thing I do.
Then I went upstairs for an hour and caught up on the news until it
was time for my dinner break.
When I got back I was on desk for two hours and we got four new
personalized reading list requests in less than an hour. It was kind
of crazy. We also got a response from one of the last patrons I made
a list for saying how much she liked it. Then my boss discovered the
reason behind the influx of requests. It turns out the patron who
sent us that nice email is a friend of our boss, and along with the
email, she had also posted on Facebook about how great the service
is, which obviously inspired her friends to try it out.
The rest of my night was spent reading a few articles, talking to one
of my coworkers because he dropped by the desk several times, and
working on one of the new personalized reading lists. I probably
could have finished it if it wasn't for my coworker, but that will
give me something to do this weekend. Along with another list or two
if no one claims them tomorrow.
When I got home I played a little CoD: WW2. I had fun, and
got in the top three a couple times, but I didn't feel like I did
very well. It was one of those sessions where my aim was off, it
felt like it took way too many bullets to kill guys, and they were
able to kill me way too fast. Oh well.
Now I'm going to record my audio journal and go to bed. I would like
to not leave the house tomorrow but I have a couple checks I need to
deposit, and I think I might use that as an excuse to buy another
Powerball ticket. Then I can spend the day thinking about what I
would do with $500 million.
