I ignored my alarm for a little while this morning but I did
eventually wake up earlier than I would have liked to. And then I
didn't really accomplish anything with that extra time, so I probably
should have just stayed in bed. Oh well.
I spent my morning doing laundry, watching videos, and clicking
around the internet. I live an exciting life.
Throughout the afternoon I made tiger bread, also known as giraffe
bread. I think it's European in origin. There is a bread recipe,
which is just a regular mixed white/wheat recipe, and then a crust
recipe, which consists of rice flour, sesame oil, yeast, and some
other things. The crust recipe creates a paste which is spread over
the bread. In the oven this paste dries out and cracks, creating the
distinctive flavor and the tiger/giraffe look. It's an interesting
concept and it totally works. I followed a recipe that made eight
big rolls and they came out looking just like all the pictures I've
seen online. They were super crunchy on the outside and really soft
and fluffy on the inside, and they tasted really good. Given my
mediocre success with bread making, I was pretty surprised how well
they turned out. I'm interested to see how they hold up in the
coming days.
Near the end of the process while I was waiting for things to rise
and then bake, I played CoD: WW2. I had my best game of War
ever while the the rolls were in the oven, and it could have been a
little better but I kept running over to check and make sure they
weren't burning. It was on Operation Breakout and I ended up getting
110 kills, 76 of which came in the first round, and my score per
minute was 687 (that is really high). I wish I could play that well
all the time.
After dinner I ran on the elliptical and took a shower. Obviously
late in the day but I still accomplished both, so there. Then I
played CoD: WW2 for another half an hour before calling it
good. I kind of want to keep playing because of the double XP
weekend, but I managed to prestige and get back up to level 21 this
weekend, which isn't bad.
I also played a little more Staxel tonight. I was only going
to play a little bit and then I played a little bit more than that.
It is definitely one of those games. It also takes a lot of work to
get the materials to craft things, and I'm hoping that doesn't become
a reason I stop playing the game. I imagine once I can get a farm
going I'll have a better cash flow and things will be a little
easier.
I didn't work on my article at all this weekend, even though I
avoided a lot of other things because I wasn't working on it, so that
will have to be my focus tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have time at work,
because it would be nice to finish it tomorrow. We'll see.
