There wasn't really a lot going today. It was my last day of
vacation and I decided I just wanted to play video games. I planned
on playing multiple games and then ended up just playing CoD: WW2.
I'm okay with that.
In one of the games I typed in chat, asking if the other team always
ran in pairs, because every time I ran into one guy I seemed to get
shot from someone coming up behind me. Several games later I ended
up on the same team as one of the players from the other team during
the earlier game. At the beginning of the game he typed in chat,
telling me to run with him because we always go in pairs. It was
pretty funny.
While I was eating lunch I got a
friend request on Steam from him and after accepting it we messaged.
He's an older dude that plays CoD: WW2 with
his friend (also an older dude) and they aren't super competitive
about it. They just play for fun and talk about all the annoying
things about the game.
So, after lunch I got my headset mic figured out and joined his
Discord channel. I downloaded Discord awhile ago but never actually
used it. It's a little weird because I can't hear myself in my
headphones, so there's no auditory indication that my mic is actually
working. And it feels like I'm just talking to myself. That's the
same issue I have with talking on the phone. Anyway, I got used to
it and we played several games and were then joined by his friend.
They are definitely in my realm of ability, which is nice, because I
don't feel like they have to carry me or that I have to carry them.
It was also fun having people to play with and talk to outside the
in-game chat. They're both on the East coast and one of them works
third shift, so we'll see how our schedules line up in the future
when I holiday isn't involved.
I ran for eight minutes on the elliptical today, so my streak is
still going. The struggle will be tomorrow morning when I have to
wake up at six o'clock in the morning. There is a pretty solid
chance I will just run after work. That idea sounds pretty good but
we'll see how I'm feeling in the morning.
I played a little more CoD:
WW2 after dinner, just to finish
a Gun Game contract. I also used some armory credits to unlock some
things from the Winter event. I think the last day is tomorrow and I
figured I would get that over with today. I got a few outfits, a
calling card, an emote, and a couple gun skins. You earn armory
credits, it's not real money, and I usually only use them to buy
contracts, so I figured I might as well use them to pick up the
Winter stuff before it disappears.
Now I'm going to record my audio
journal. Yesterday was the 365th
recording. I'm somewhat surprised I made it through the entire year.
We'll see if I can make it through a second year. I want to drop
the video game part for the video recording but I haven't come up
with what I'm going to use instead. Maybe just the thumbnail I was
making. I'll see if I can get that figured out. Anyway, it's almost
eleven o'clock and I have to get up in the morning, so I'm going to
stop rambling.
