December 30, 2017

Today was fairly relaxed. So relaxed that I didn't write anything in my notes journal until the end of the day, so who's to say if any of this will be in chronological order.

I woke up after eight hours of sleep. That's definitely the first thing that happened today, so we at least started off chronologically correct. Then I looked at funny pictures and watched The Big Fat Quiz of 2017 and this year's Christmas episode of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown. I also watched YouTube videos and recorded livestreams. And I AFK'd in Tera and played Superflight, which I picked up super cheap during the Steam summer sale. It was even cheaper because I used my credit so it didn't actually cost me anything.

I didn't get around to shampooing the carpet in the basement flood room but I did compromise and vacuumed the carpet upstairs. I'll be honest, I haven't done that since I moved in a year ago. But to be fair to me, I don't have pets or kids, I live alone, and I don't have a lot of guests over, so the traffic and potential for dirt and dust is minimal. Afterward I spent an even longer amount of time cutting string and other carpet stuff out from the brush spindle thing. I don't know where it all came from, and it was a bitch to get it all unwound and cut, but now my vacuum is as good as new.

I got an early start on my exercise resolution and ran for eight minutes on the elliptical. I was quickly reminded that when I start exercising again after a long break, my legs betray me long before my heart and lungs. I don't know think that is necessarily a good sign for my heart and lungs, because I'm out of shape, but it is telling for how awful my legs are.

After dinner I played CoD: WW2. I had one of the most epic moments of my CoD life in one of the games, where I killed three or four guys and they all respawned really close and I killed three or four more, without a break, all around one area of stacked boxes, before I was finally taken out by a grenade. As I write it, it doesn't sound very epic, but even the guys on the other team were impressed. I need to start recording my gameplay again. I also spent a long time with some random helpful people in the headquarters trying to finish one of the hard sequences at the firing range. We got really close but weren't able to do it. Maybe next time.

And lastly, before going to bed I finished watching Masterminds, which I had started watching earlier in the day. It was a ridiculous movie but I enjoyed it.
