This morning I woke up early because I went to bed at eleven o'clock.
Once again, it is nice not sleeping through the entire morning.
When I got out of bed I went out to the living room and read from a
couple books for awhile. And then I played Terraria, because
that's what I do now.
Eventually I got ready and ate lunch before heading to the
convention. I realized shortly before going that I had forgotten all
of the outreach stuff, like brochures and flyers, at the library.
Whoops. Kind of defeats the major purpose of an outreach event. But
I remembered the Makey Makey and the potatoes, so that's something.
I think I was so focused on not forgetting that stuff that I forgot
the other stuff. It even briefly crossed my mind yesterday but then
I got distracted by something else. Oh well.
Despite not being the most vocal or obvious representative of the
library, I would say the event went pretty well. I was right by the
door (and also a trash can, so it smelled like old McDonald's the
whole time). I briefly spoke with a librarian from out of town that
is setting a gaming thing up at his library, so that was work
related, and overall there were thirty-two people at my table, most
of which played the game. If only I had remembered the outreach
stuff.
I was there for three hours and afterward I picked up a sandwich at
Jimmy John's and a drink at Sonic before heading home. I was there
just long enough to load up my laundry and head to my Mom's house.
And then I did laundry. I looked are the internet. I think I found
the planner I want to buy. I want to keep better track of my work
stuff and I think it would be helpful if I could write everything
down in one place. I'm not a fan of trying to keep track of
everything digitally because it always seems to be in a million
different places. I would like to find a 2017 version so I could
finish out the year and see if it works for me, but this late in the
year that seems to be difficult. I'll keep looking.
In internet news, my sister is pretty great. She was annoyed with
the service I got yesterday so she got on Twitter and got in contact
with them. And now I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow
between 3:00PM and 5:00PM. That is way better than the information I
got on the phone. I just hope it ends up being a problem on their
end and not my router, because it will cost me $75 for the service
call and then I would have to buy a new router on top of that. That
would suck. I just want it to be something quick and simple so I can
get back online. It's annoying paying for a service and then not
getting it.
Now I'm going to go home and probably play Terraria. Because
that's what I do now.
