September 10, 2017

This morning I woke up around eight o'clock, which is really early considering when I went to bed last night. But I got up so I could experience more of the day. I don't know that I made good or bad use of that time but I did things.

I made egg sandwiches for breakfast. I also dropped an egg on the floor. It didn't survive. I read books. I watched Dave Chappelle's two comedy specials on Netflix. I took a nap after lunch, not necessarily because I was tired but laying down on my couch and listening to music sounded nice and I inevitably drifted in and out of sleep.

I played Elite Dangerous and bought a bobblehead because I reached my sixty-hour goal. It's pretty cool and I would say it was worth it. I also downloaded the trial version of a popular voice command software that people use to do basic commands while playing Elite Dangerous in VR. I didn't actually try it out today but I did start training the voice recognition program for Windows. Apparently the more you read the training text to the computer the better it gets at recognizing your voice. It's interesting.

Tonight I made stir fry again because I had a yellow bell pepper, jalapeno, zucchini, half a red onion, and some carrots that I needed to use before they went bad. I never got around to making white bread in my bread machine this weekend but tonight I made simple yeast rolls using my food processor to make the dough and then popped them in the oven. I somehow managed to time everything perfectly and I finished the stir fry right before I took the rolls out of the oven. Both were very tasty. I was kind of surprised by how well the rolls turned out.

After dinner I played several different VR games. I got them in a cheap bundle, so I wasn't expecting much but only one of them was a bit of a dud. I still have a few more to try but I would say it was worth the three or four bucks I spent on the bundle.

I also started watching Star Trek: Enterprise tonight. I'm only three episodes in but I am enjoying it. I used to watch it when it was on TV and it was my favorite series since Next Generation. I'm hoping I can make it through all four seasons. Each episode is forty-five minutes long, so it is more of a time commitment than a half hour show, but I think I can do it. It would be a good show to watch while playing Elite Dangerous.

I've had a headache all day so I'm going to record my audio journal and go to bed. Laying in a cool, dark place with my eyes closed sounds very appealing right now.
