September 6, 2017

This morning on the way to work I saw a food truck, not the kind that serves food but the one that delivers frozen food in bulk to places, in this case I'm assuming it was the dorm dining hall. Anyway, the image on the side of the truck was made to look like the panel had been peeled back to reveal several chefs preparing the food in the back of the truck. My immediate thought was that it would be funny if that could be animated so that every time the truck turned a corner or came to a stop the chefs would be knocked around. Or the picture could have been taken with them trying to stay on their feet while holding onto stuff so it doesn't fall off the counter. A missed opportunity.

On a walkthrough one of the librarians came across a cop. This led to an interesting morning. There was apparently a sleeper in the library that was wanted for questioning in connection a stolen car and a stolen phone. They had apparently pinged the phone and found it in a parking lot less than a mile from the library. When I did my walkthrough the dude was still sleeping and there appeared to be a cop in plain clothes sitting at a table nearby. He had a book next to him on the table but he never looked at it but he kept glancing at the sleeper and anyone else who moved. There was still a cop by the door and there were three more outside with two detectives. They were apparently waiting for a detective from the next county over because that's where the crime happened. In the end they got the guy without an issue. The director later said it was the first time they had pinged a phone and it worked so the cops were pretty hyped up about it.

I composed Thank You notes for the two presenters last night and handed those off to the teen librarian so she could actually write them because her handwriting is better. I finished my monthly statistics stuff and set up a spreadsheet for our adulting attendees. We also finalized our survey and I got that sent out before I left today. I took my lunch ten minutes late because I got to work at nine o'clock, which usually means a one o'clock lunch, but apparently I was supposed to go at noon. It ended up working out.

I came close to finishing one of my tutorials. I had previously finished the content but today I started adding the words. It could potentially be turned into a voice-over tutorial but for now I'm just typing the text in the designated subtitle area of the slide. I leave an black area near the bottom of the slide so that subtitles can be there without overlapping on the content of the slide. Just a personal preference. I might be able to finish it tomorrow if I don't get sidetracked by other things.

I'm going to say that is all that happened at work today. It was an alright day.

After work I picked up Qdoba. They still lack any sense of urgency, which can make the shortest of lines take forever. And the one guy working on the line got a little distracted while filling my order and accidentally put barbecue sauce instead of queso on my bowl. He was going to start over but I said it was alright and he put queso on top of it. I didn't necessarily want both of them but I rolled with it.

After we ate dinner I showed a few YouTube videos and we talked for awhile before I headed home around eight o'clock. The rest of the night just kind of disappeared. And it is now almost one o'clock because I got distracted creating a new dating app profile. This one involved a few different personality tests which each had a whole bunch of questions. The results from the first test sounded like the exact opposite of me but the other ones seemed more accurate. We'll see if it goes anywhere. My concern with the more dating apps that I try is that it will eventually lead to something. I need to get over that by actually meeting people and taking that first step, but until it happens I will continue dreading it.

Anyway, I'm going to record my audio journal and go to bed. I close tomorrow but I have to wake up early to get a haircut. I long overdue haircut. I'm looking forward to it.
