This morning I slept in, I think. I can't really remember. I think
it was before ten o'clock but I could be wrong about that. It
doesn't really matter. I didn't really do anything with my morning.
I mean, I did something but it wasn't noteworthy enough for me to
remember. I eventually got ready and went to my Mom's house to do
laundry.
While my laundry laundered I ate lunch, watched a couple different
versions of Star Trek and several episodes of MASH,
took a nap, and composed an email to the HOA. I would have liked it
to be really passive aggressive and sarcastic and a little bit
confrontational. Instead I tried to keep it civil. I think I
accomplished that. Tomorrow I will send it and I will also email my
checks. I still haven't decided if I'm going to write nine
individual checks for the past months but I do think I'm going to
include a check for October just so I can save on the stamp.
When I got home I played Minecraft in VR. I'll be honest, it
made me a little sick. I would say this is mostly due to controlling
my directional movement with the mouse and keyboard, which didn't
always match up with where I thought I would be moving based on where
I was looking. The movement up and down blocks is also weird. I'm
going to keep trying it, though. I also need to try playing it
standing up with the Vive controllers. I think that would be less
nausea-inducing. It's still cool being in the Minecraft world.
I adjusted the scale a couple times and I think I've finally got
that figured out so I don't feel super tiny or super big.
After dinner I played Elite Dangerous. I scanned some more
planets and then looked up where to find the new ship I've been
wanting for awhile now. I think it was only one or two jumps away
from my current position, so that worked out nicely. I jumped over
there, bought my new ship, and then spent time outfitting it. I kind
of forgot about that aspect of it. I need to look up some loadouts.
I think I did an alright job winging it. I also added a mining laser
so at some point I can sidetrack and try out mining asteroids.
My friend came over later and we hung out and talked about all the
random things for an hour or so. It's always good to hang out. I
don't like group situations but I don't mind hanging out with a few
friends. I have potential friends that I could make here in town and
have people to hang out with but that takes a lot of effort. The
beginning of friendships take so much work, though, and in the
beginning you're just hanging out with strangers. I'm not really a
fan of that. So I will continue having work friends and occasionally
hanging out with my old friends whenever they're in town.
And it is now almost one o'clock in the morning so I'm going to
record my audio journal and go to bed. I am already looking forward
to next weekend, because it will be another break from work. I still
really like my job but I think for the foreseeable future I will be
looking forward to my days off.
