Happy Birthday to me.
Today I slept in and spent the rest of the morning playing video
games. I jumped back into Gat Out of Hell for awhile and then
tried out Dangerous Golf, which was made by the same people
who made Burnout. I loved that game and Dangerous Golf
is basically the same concept but with golf instead of cars. I think
Burnout is more fun but Dangerous Golf definitely has
some replayability.
I
eventually got around to taking a shower, loading up my car, and
heading over to my Mom's. While that was happening I read National
Geographic and
watched M*A*S*H.
I started watching Young Guns
but that was right before dinner so if I remember I might try and
finish it during my lunch breaks next week. I don't know that I've
ever seen the full movie before but I actually just put it on the DVD
display yesterday. That seemed like an interesting coincidence.
For
dinner we went to the Chinese buffet because that is our go-to
birthday spot. The food was good and I managed to not eat too much.
Which is a good thing because when we got back to the house we had
cake and ice cream. Pistachio gelato and strawberry ice cream. Good
times.
Following
that I opened presents. Among other things my mom got me this really
cool little gnome that is all green and my sister made me artichoke
hummus with homemade pitas. Good times all around.
When I
got home I set up my new Bluetooth that was my birthday present to
myself. It has some interference issues when I put my hand in the
right spot but in terms of sound quality it far exceeded my
expectations. I'm looking forward to using it in the kitchen when I
cook and even in my bedroom if I just want to lay in bed and listen
to music, which I did for a little while tonight when I was testing
it out.
Overall,
it was good birthday. Sleeping in, video games, good food, family
time, and alone time. The only minor downer was the short dog fight.
Gotta love dog fights.
It is
now just after midnight and despite sleeping in I have been tired for
the last few hours. So I'm going to record my audio journal and then
go to bed. Yesterday I had to record my audio journal twice because
the first time I got eight minutes in and forgot to plug in my
microphone. I am going to avoid that mistake tonight.
