I always appreciate a day where I can wake up without an alarm. I
beat my alarm by an hour today, but to be fair I set it for nine
hours. I didn't think I would actually sleep that long but I set it
just in case.
I took a shower and then went to the basement to play Little
Nightmares for awhile. I haven't made it very far but the game
is definitely creepy. I like it. And it looks even better projected
on my wall.
I went to work at noon and I did things. The first part of my day is
escaping me. I was on desk for a couple hours and I think I spent
that entire time updating the scavenger hunt brochure. It looked
very dated so I changed the fonts, made a better cover, and tried to
make it resemble our current brochures. I also updated a couple of
the businesses featured in the scavenger hunt with the current
business in the building, not the one that was there when the
scavenger hunt was originally made.
I went upstairs to the cubicle for the hour before my dinner break so
I could finish the scavenger hunt thing and then worked on coming up
with a better layout for my homebound spreadsheets. I ended up
getting so wrapped up with that project that I went on break ten
minutes late because forty-minutes completely disappeared.
Tonight was different. The weather was bad and a little before seven
o'clock I had to get on the PA system and ask everyone to go to the
basement because the tornado sirens started going off. We had to be
there for about thirty minutes until the tornado warning expired. It
wasn't too bad but it was hot and loud. I'm just glad people were
cool about it and that nothing ended up actually happening. I'm also
glad we had a backup to the weather radio, because the person in
charge of that couldn't get it working. Instead we used a phone to
connect to the Bluetooth speaker and stream a local radio station
covering the storm.
With the rest of the night kept an eye on the weather and streamed
the radio on the computer to make sure there weren't any updates on
the storm. We got some pretty intense rain for a little bit but by
the time we left it was only sprinkling. I also got a start on a
personalized reading list but only got two books in.
When I got home I watched YouTube videos and looked at couches. I
like the idea of putting a sectional downstairs for the projector
area but it turns out sectionals are expensive. So that probably
won't happen. And I already have one couch I barely use, I don't
need another one.
Now I'm going to record my audio journal because it is getting late
and I open again tomorrow morning. That means I'm going to be tired
tomorrow because I've already missed the window on getting a full
night of sleep. Good times.
