We got hot water at the house yesterday so I was able to take a
shower there this morning. That was convenient. During the day a
guy came and fixed the washer and dryer so now we can do laundry, and
my mom found out that pushing the reset button on the outlet in the
bathroom upstairs fixed the outlet in my bathroom downstairs.
Strange. Now we just need internet and cable.
This morning before school started I went to add desktop links to the
laptops in one of the third grade rooms. Most of them weren't
working but I “fixed” them by taking the battery out for about
thirty seconds and then putting it back in. I have no idea what's
happening. They are also pretty slow which makes the whole process
take that much longer. I only made it through about five computers
before I had to head back to the lab.
I had a fifth grade class this morning that went because the kids
were well behaved and I spent most of the time talking to the
teacher, my old para friend. This afternoon I watched the other
fifth grade class for quite awhile because the teacher had a parent
meeting. The class wouldn't stop talking and complaining. I am
often left alone with kindergarteners in the lab and they are way
better behaved than the fifth graders were today. Thankfully the
teacher eventually came back and the class settled down. I ended up
having a pretty good talk with the teacher about kids and pets and
all the other random things.
When I didn't have classes in the lab I got ready for MAP testing. I
finished typing up the seating charts (minus the two I don't have
yet), finalized and printed off the schedules, and updated my score
sheets and spreadsheets with new students. So I was super productive
in that regard.
Near the end of the day one of the office ladies had me come up and
she told me that the custodian recently bought a motorcycle and she
had taken to calling him Evel Knievel. Her and the principal then
decided it would be pretty funny if I photoshopped the custodian into
Evel Knievel pictures. I'm running out of things to do so I accepted
the challenge. In the last ten minutes of school I managed to do a
rough job of one picture that I think will actually look pretty good
when I have time to mess with it some more. It should be a pretty
interesting project.
After school I went to the old house to get some things I made a list
of before stopping by the UPS store, going to Chipotle, and then
heading to the new house. Dinner went well but the dude really took
serious with the extra rice and beans so my half of burrito was too
much. It was also brown rice so the flavor wasn't great. But it
wasn't too bad.
When we were done eating we talked for quite awhile at the table,
then for awhile outside before I headed back here, to the old house,
so I could watch some YouTube videos and write this. I saw the cats
again but they had no interest in coming near me. It is sad. Now
I'm going to maybe grab a few things and then head back to the new
house. Maybe read a bit of a textbook before going to bed. I'm
looking forward to messing with the custodian pictures tomorrow.
