A classic, lazy Sunday. I caught up on YouTube videos, watched a
little TV, burned some DVDs, and played Cube World.
I have discovered five biomes and am up to seven or eight pets.
Until they add in being able to build a house, my main goal for the
game is to get a whole bunch of pets. I just wish I could have more
than one out at a time so I could just adventure around with a gang
of animals. Tonight I finally got an alpaca, the pet I have wanted
from the beginning because they look awesome. And I named him
Notallama. I just found an ocean biome and I have the food to tame a
Leaf Runner, which kind of looks like an ostrich if instead of a long
neck, the head was stuck right on the front of the body. But my next
goal is to tame a turtle. That probably would have been my favorite
before the alpaca but I saw the alpaca first. To tame a turtle,
however, I need a cinnamon roll, which I have not come across yet.
Eventually.
The power blinked out tonight while
I was playing, right after I collected the food I needed to tame the
alpaca and almost immediately after I tamed a bat, and I tensed up
for a second, afraid that I lost all that stuff. A bad thing
considering that the food only drops randomly and rarely. But I
guess the game saves automatically as you go because when I turned my
computer back on and got back in the game I was within a few feet of
where I had been when my computer shut off. Amazing.
I made a food from Pinterest today.
That is probably a pretty rare statement. At least I am assuming.
Anyway, it wasn't much of a food, just baked cauliflower, but I still
made it. It was supposed to be a substitute for microwave popcorn,
something I don't eat because it is a bit much and I prefer entirely
plain, air pop popcorn, but I wanted to give it a try. I changed up
the recipe but it ended up working out. I cut up a bunch of
cauliflower and threw it in a bag with some olive oil, tumeric,
paprika, lemon pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Then I
tossed it all around, poured it onto a baking sheet, and put it in
the oven for about thirty minutes at 425 degrees. It really did come
anywhere close to being like popcorn but it did remind me a lot of
tater tots. Like a lot. And it was good. I might make some more
tomorrow. Maybe.
Due to catching up on my YouTube
videos, tonight I watched other stuff. I started with a TV show,
Vexed, a British buddy
cop type of show. I originally wanted to watch it because it had
Lucy Punch and she was hilarious in Ben And Kate
(which got canceled and that sucks). But the first season is on
three episodes and Lucy Punch did not return in the second season.
So that is weird but the first three episodes were pretty good. She
plays more of the straight-laced cop going through some marital
issues. And her new partner is a cop who plays by his own rules and
doesn't really care what people think. Not the first time that
dynamic has been used but I liked it. I'm going to have to check out
the second season and see how the new girl is. After that I moved
onto a couple movies. First, Revenge For Jolly,
a movie about a man and his cousin who go on a vengeful killing spree
after his dog is killed. It is a dark comedy and it was decent.
There wasn't much of an ending and that kind of sucked but I enjoyed
the comedy. Second, Going The Distance,
a straight-up comedy after the dark stuff. I'm a fan of the movie
and it didn't fail to make me laugh. I ended the night with a couple
episodes from the first season of New Girl.
Great show. Schmidt is my favorite character, closely followed by
Nick (played by Jake Johnson, who looks like he could be the brother
of Oscar Isaac, who played the cousin in Revenge For Polly,
and the resemblance is a little freaky).
I am going to finish the episode I'm
on and then go to bed. I am looking forward to school starting again
so I can get back to that schedule. It sucks only getting about
seven hours of sleep a night but I kind of like going to bed early
and getting up early.
