Holy crap, I actually exercised this morning. And it felt great. I
really need to do it every day. What was not great, was remembering
that I needed to be at work an hour earlier than I previously thought
because I forgot we had a kids show today. I got used to the past
few weeks where it was at the same time as our first regular show, so
I was going to work at the same time every day, not an hour early on
Thursdays. Whoops. I remembered right as I was getting out of the
shower and thankfully I give myself enough time in the morning so I
was able to get to work in time to start the kids shows. Even if I
only had five minutes to spare.
We had a lot more kids than usual thanks to several bus loads of Boys
& Girls Club kids. While I was talking to one of the managers
one of the little girls came up to us and started giving me a funny
stare, which I returned in kind. She was a third grader last year
that moved to a different school about halfway through the year. She
recognized me and I remembered her because she looks a lot like what
my friend's sister looked like when she was younger. It was a pretty
funny moment.
My day was the same as yesterday. I listened to the radio while
switching off between reading and cross stitching. I have probably
passed the halfway point on the fourth letter of my cross stitch.
Slowly but surely. I also hit 50% on Under The Dome.
Only eighteen hours to go. I have only read one other Stephen King
book, Dreamcatcher,
and I liked it, and I am really getting into Under The
Dome, so I should probably read
more Stephen King books. They are quite the commitment though. I
remember Dreamcatcher being
a long book, Under The Dome
is one thousand pages, and I have always wanted to read Tommyknockers
but I remember seeing that in a stack of books at my dad's house when
I was little and it was also pretty thick. I have a collection of
scary short stories by Stephen King that I got at a library sale
awhile ago so maybe that would be a good start. Low commitment. But
first, I've still got eighteen hours left in Under The
Dome. The best two things I
read today was a Laurel And Hardy reference and one of the characters
saying “He's acting like Chief Big Dick of Horny Mountain.” That
is pretty great.
After work I ate the second half of
my Chipotle burrito and eventually called the new volunteer kid to
see if we were going to hang out. Which we were not because he had
chores to do and a house to paint. I asked him about the progress on
getting his birth certificate and his case worker has submitted a
request to get one. The kid tried calling his dad to see if he had
the birth certificate but he didn't answer. Maybe he just doesn't
answer numbers he doesn't recognize.
With my night free, I was
unproductive. Sort of. I watched YouTube videos and played my new
favorite tablet game, Hill Climb Racing.
I maxed out the jeep a day or two ago and today I managed to unlock
and fully upgrade the tank, which is the best vehicle. In my
opinion, only having tried the jeep and a double-decker tourist bus
before the tank. I found out using the tank on the moon level is the
easiest way to rack up points because I can get between 80,000 and
100,000 points per run. Until tonight when I was having very
successful runs on the highway level, get over 1,000,000 points per
run. I haven't actually timed it so it might be faster doing shorter
moon runs, but it is way more satisfying getting 1,000,000 points.
