There is a theory that caterpillars were responsible for the demise
of dinosaurs. Caterpillars came into being shortly before the
dinosaurs went extinct and the theory is that an infestation of
caterpillars chewed up all the leaves so herbivorous dinosaurs had
nothing to eat, which killed them off and in turn took away the food
supply for carnivorous dinosaurs. Apparently most people do not
agree with this theory (or hypothesis I guess) but I think it is
pretty interesting. It's up there with the hypothesis that
butterflies are actually parasites that live inside of caterpillars,
and they compel the caterpillar to build a cocoon, and then use the
caterpillar as a source of food before breaking out of the cocoon.
If it were true, that would be way cooler than reality.
Not surprisingly, I did not make it to Hobby Lobby today. I did give
it some thought but I don't really need the string yet and I have no
plans to work on my blanket in the near future. Instead, I started
watching old Rhett And Link videos on YouTube. Starting with their
Good Morning Chia Lincoln
series. And I watched a high school graduation speech that they gave
which was probably the best one I have seen. Easily the most
memorable. I've been through one graduation in high school and two
in college and I couldn't tell you what anyone said at any of them.
It was all bullshit and took way too long. Graduation speakers
should always be comedians. You still probably won't remember what
they say but it would make the hours go by faster.
I also played a little Cube
World, discovering yet another
ocean biome. They are definitely in abundance on my world. Not a
problem for me considering I have spent the majority of my time
swimming around in the various oceans. I added a beetle, horse, and
chicken to my growing pet collection as well as more food for taming.
I think I have enough food to double my current pet count, which is
a number I couldn't tell you at the moment. But it's a lot.
At work tonight I read a bunch,
finished the third letter of my cross stitch and got a start on the
fourth, finished the second series of Sherlock,
watched The Watch, and
played a game on my tablet. Much like my current pet count in Cube
World, I couldn't tell you what
game I was playing on my tablet but it has been my new favorite for
the past couple of days. It involved a truck that you control with
gas and brake pedals, trying to go as far as you can on various
side-scrolling maps. The truck is upgradable, which you need to do
in order to make it farther on the maps. There are also other
vehicles but I have been spending my points on unlocking truck
upgrades and maps. I am afraid that if I unlock a new vehicle the
upgrades from my truck won't carry over and that just sounds like a
long process. I'll try it eventually, after I fully upgrade the
truck and unlock all the maps. I like it because it requires some
skills, it keeps me wanting to go farther and farther, and it doesn't
require me to pay money in order to unlock stuff. That is an option
of course, but a big part of the fun is saving up the points for
upgrades and unlocks. It would quickly lose its entertainment value
if I bought all the upgrades and unlocks. It would kind of take the
point away from the whole game.
Anyway, when I got home I typed this
up and watched/listened to APL's stream of house music that he was
DJing from his bedroom. Outside of MachinimaRespawn, I knew that Mr.
Sark was really into the music and that APL was getting into it but I
didn't know he was into the DJ thing. And I've got to say I am
liking what he's doing. Hopefully the stream will be saved because
it would make good exercise music.
I also had a cup of trail mix when I
got home and in the middle of it my jaw started to hurt whenever I
would take a bite. I have no idea what that's about, maybe I yawned
too big, but I'm going to cross my fingers that in seven hours or so
from now it will have fixed itself. Work your magic Sleep.
