Well, my eye is getting worse. We met up at my dad's this morning,
loaded up the trailer with the generator and the bench pieces, and
then headed out to the lake. We managed to get the benches installed
and a railroad tie put in place by one o'clock or so, when we called
it a day because it looked like a storm was coming in. A drop or two
of rain fell but that was about it. So we probably could have gotten
a little more done but we didn't have any stain and staining the rest
of the dock is the last major thing that needs to be done on the
dock.
When we got back into town we had lunch and sat around for awhile
before I came home and made a doctor's appointment. I got in an hour
or so later and stumped the doctor. He had it narrowed down to three
things but I wasn't fully exhibiting the signs of any of them. There
was an eye thing that he had trouble pronouncing but my eye wasn't
painful to the touch. The was shingles, going along with the red
bumpiness on my forehead but he said that didn't look quite right and
it should have hurt as well, and my forehead doesn't hurt. The third
thing was just a regular infection. With a remote possibility of
poison ivy, although my eye puffed up originally before I got near
any poison ivy. To be safe, because he said anything he was thinking
about would only get worse if untreated, he prescribed three
different medications. One of which cost over $80, after insurance
covered over $90, and it was a generic medication. That better be
the one that fixes me so I get my money's worth.
I started two of the medications tonight but he wanted me to start
the Prednisone in the morning. And while I was at work my eye just
seemed to get worse. It became more swollen and became more itchy
and I feel a compulsion to close it and when I do that hard enough it
hurts a little. Around 11:30PM it started to bother me enough and my
eye started watering a little so I decided to go home so I could put
an ice pack on my eye. Which I am doing intermittently now. It
manages to relieve some of the discomfort but I can't tell if it is
the cold or the ice pack or the pressure of me holding it against my
eye. Either way, if I don't experience an amazing recovery by
tomorrow morning I will probably call into work. Which is
frustrating. And I am supposed to work at the school library on
Wednesday. I don't want to miss that.
Now I'm going to call this good so I can put the ice pack back on my
bed, maybe lay in bed for awhile and see if I can fall asleep. With
my fingers crossed.
