I woke up this morning and I looked like Rocky. My eye was almost
entirely swollen shut. And not surprisingly, it was very
uncomfortable. And the bug bites on my legs hurt. And the one on my
ear. It is horribly placed on the back of my ear and it is
impossible not to bump it against my hoodie or against the pillow
when I'm laying in bed. It is a bother. Possibly more than my eye
at times but the eye definitely wins out in the long run. And then
there is my forehead which is still red and kind of bumpy. My body
is sucking right now.
I texted my manager and let her know I wouldn't be coming in today.
I just wanted to eat a big bowl of Golden Grahams and hold an ice
pack to my eye. Which I did and it was as great as that scenario can
be. I slept horribly last night because of my eye but my the time I
finished my cereal it was feeling bearable, maybe the three different
pills coursing through my system had started to kick in, and I was
able to take a nap. By the end of the day my eye had actually
started to look better and now it is still a tad on the puffy side
but mostly just red. And mildly uncomfortable. Hopefully it will
look even better in the morning, and won't swell all the way up
again. If it does look better I might be able to go work at the
school library.
In between holding an ice pack to my eye I managed to do a bit of
laundry and drove all over Europe in Euro Truck Simulator 2.
It's a pretty relaxing game. I put on some Avett Brothers on
Spotify and just cruised the open road. I decided to base myself out
of Luxembourg because it was pretty much in the center of the map but
my last run today finally took me up north to Manchester. It was a
disaster. It was my first time using a ferry and I got confused
because the navigation system doesn't start working again after the
ferry until you pull back out onto the road. This confusion lead me
to using the ferry four or five times, costing me over $900 and about
eight hours each time. Which in turn lead me to be way late on my
delivery. And I got a speeding ticket. But I got to see English on
signs and drive on the left side of the road so there is that.
