Last night I played The Vanishing of Ethan Carter for the
first time, finally. I don't know about the storyline or plot yet
but I do know it is a beautiful game. I only got to play for about
thirty minutes and I spent most of that time just looking around the
world. So regardless of how the game itself turns out, I'm going to
enjoy my time in the world. Also, I've jumped a handful of times. I
don't know if that will be a continued theme throughout the game but
I like it.
Today work by really quickly. Especially the morning. It was over
in the blink of an eye. It was kind of crazy. And I didn't take
notes but I probably should have. I know I had a couple walkthroughs
and I was on desk for an hour this morning. I responded to a few
emails, formatted my new weeding list, and formatted another
spreadsheet for statistics stuff. And I think that was my morning.
Oh, and I helped get a couple set up on the mircrofilm machine. They
were there for several hours throughout the day.
This afternoon I had another walkthrough, I was on desk for a couple
hours, and I had some free time. I finished formatting my weeding
list and it is going to be pretty boring. Out of the 600+ books,
only sixteen or so meet the initial criteria to be weeded. Good
grief. There will probably be some that are MUSTIE, basically not
presentable anymore, but overall there won't be much pulling going
on. Over 200 of them are too new to be pulled. But I'm okay with
this because our large print is already pretty small and it is hard
enough finding books for my homebound patrons.
I had a free hour at the end of the day so I went up to the cubicle
and read some of the backlog of magazines I have. I made it through
two and got a start on a third, so that's not bad.
On my way home I stopped by my Mom's house to pick up my shoes that
arrived. New green Chucks. And I should have a second pair arriving
tomorrow. Good times.
When I got home I made cornbread. There is a lot of butter in
cornbread. There is also a lot of sugar but I didn't have to worry
about that because I forgot to put it in. I got the sugar out
(setting it right next to the flour), and I even got the measuring
cup out. But I forgot to put it in the bowl. Whoops. Despite that,
it turned out alright. It was kind of a like a drier, buttery
biscuit. I was really surprised it worked out. I'm glad it did
though because I had about thirty minutes of waiting, knowing that I
had forgotten to add an important ingredient. I also pulled it out
of the oven at pretty much the perfect time because it looked
spot-on.
I spent the rest of my night watching YouTube videos and reading
things on the internet. And now I'm back to the nostalgic YouTube
music playlist while I write this. So good.
After I record my audio journal I'm going to jump back into The
Vanishing of Ethan Carter. It's going to be another short
session because I have to wake up early, but short is better than
none.
