December 9, 2016

Today was pretty uneventful. We had a meeting with a new volunteer who is going to help with our tech help classes next semester. After he left my boss and I discussed the schedule a little bit more and then I was able to get the last few things added to the calendar. Some of them are still up in the air so I didn't make them public but I at least have the time reserved.

I spent a good chunk of my day looking at the digital magazine trial. One of the magazines is called Computers in the Library and it had a lot of interesting information. A lot of it was over my head but the stuff that I understood and was actually relevant was interesting. It got me thinking about bluetooth beacons instead of RFID tags for the project I want to work on. I don't know if they're quite right for what I want to do either, but I think there is potential. It's still a bit of a mind bender.

I also answered the phone a bunch and helped a patron find books. My two displays have not really been checking out so I haven't had to put much effort into those. Next week I'll start working on my homebound stuff, so that will give me something to do. I don't really have much else going on at work at the moment. I should probably start getting plans ready for my spring classes.

Tonight I watched YouTube videos and played Terraria. It was good times.

Tomorrow I'll be taking my clothes over to my Mom's to do laundry. While that is happening I'll probably read. I've got a lot of books to catch up on.
