This morning I woke up early so I could pick my Mom up after she
dropper her car off at the mechanic. When I dropped her off I also
fixed the sections of Christmas lights that had come loose when we
had all that wind the other day. I'll be taking them down in the
near future but I didn't want to leave them hanging there.
When I got home I still had a few hours before work so I decided to
watch The Peanuts Movie, which I got for Christmas. I ended
up pausing it part way through and taking a couple short naps in my
chair because my early morning was catching up to me. I did
eventually finish the movie. I think I liked it but I'll need to
watch it again. My main complaint was that it was really long. That
makes sense because it is a movie but I'm not used to seeing that
much Peanuts. It could be my tiredness but it was hard to
stay focused for such an extended period of time. I'll give it
another shot at some point.
At work a lot of my day was spent working on book lists for displays.
I continued working on the list I started yesterday for
inspirational book but while working on that I kept coming across
books that involved libraries or bookstores. That led me down a
rabbit hole and I started another list of books that involve
libraries or bookstores. Next month I also have the main display,
and I don't know that I want to use the libraries and bookstore theme
for that, but I will use it at some point in the future. I also
don't want to do an overt New Years resolution display on the main
display next month but I'm not sure what else I would do. I've still
got a few days to figure it out.
It was a fairly quiet and uneventful day at work, at least what I'm
remembering of it, so there isn't a lot to write about. It is also
late and I'm tired.
On my dinner break I went to my Mom's house and had the leftover
pizza and pie I had dropped off there this morning. While I ate I
continued to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special. It might
take me a couple more days to finish it but I'm getting there.
While I was at work I got a text from my friend who is in town for
the week. He had pushed something on his mom's TV remote that caused
the sound to stop working. I stopped by when I got off work and we
played around with it for awhile and eventually got it working.
Somehow the HDMI inputs had gotten switched, so when the cable was
playing there wasn't any sound, but when it was on the DVD input the
cable sound would play. My friend said he had been pushing a bunch
of buttons trying to get it to do something but neither of us could
figure out how he could accidentally swap the inputs like that. We
may not have actually undone what he did, just come up with a
different solution. Regardless, his mom can now watch a show and
hear it at the same time. Crazy. After we got that fixed we stood
around and talked for an hour or so. It's always good to talk to
friends.
Now we're coming up on midnight and I need to go to bed so I can wake
up early and open tomorrow. The only thing I'm looking forward to is
getting off at five o'clock.
