Today was a good day. I woke up early, which was kind of annoying,
but it allowed me to do more things. I spent my morning reading in
bed. I finished a book about the history behind A Charlie Brown
Christmas. It was an interesting book and I learned (or was
reminded) that the term 'security blanket' was coined by Charles
Schulz in referring to Linus' blanket. I also read from a few other
books. When I had read enough I watched A Charlie Brown
Christmas. Still great. Afterward while crocheting I listened
to the soundtrack a few times.
Speaking of, throughout the day I continued work on the amigurumi
robot. It took me all day to finish the body. It was a lot of
crocheting and my hands aren't a fan of extended crocheting sessions.
But I got the body done so now I just need to make the ears, arms,
and legs. It's a larger project than I originally intended, both in
the size of the robot and in the length of time it is taking me. I
found a video for a smaller bear and I think I might take the pattern
for that body and add on the robot appendages and see if I cut the
time down a little bit.
I continued looking through the digital magazine subscription for
work. There are so many magazines. We're only going to start with a
handful of them but hopefully there will be one or two I'm interested
in. I also want to start checking out some of the physical magazines
we already have at the library. We're already paying for them and
I'll be able to knock out a magazine much faster than a book, which I
currently have a stack of.
Tonight I took a little break from crocheting and while I ate dinner
I watched the movie Spectral projected up on my living room
wall. I haven't used my projector in awhile but tonight I was in the
mood for an action movie. So I threw it up on my wall and put my
headphones on so I could turn it up loud. Spectral is an
original Netflix movie and it was pretty good. I was kind of annoyed
by the suits they were wearing at the end. Not only because I think
they were supposed to just be thrown together, even though they
looked like a lot of time went into designing them, but also because
there were high-tech mask things that they started off wearing, and
some continued to wear, while others opened them up. There was a
lack of continuity. I still enjoyed the movie, for the most part.
After the movie I washed a few dishes, refilled my daily fountain
pen, read a little more, finished crocheting the robot body, and
watched some YouTube videos. So, all-in-all, it was a good day. It
was productive, I got to do all the things I wanted to, and I just
got to relax at home. I could use more days like this.
