This morning I did not wake up early enough to read this morning, but
I did enjoy laying in bed.
My main goal at work today was to finish my weeding list. I was on
desk for my first two hours, so no weeding happened, but I had three
free hours after that and easily made it through my list. I pulled
another seventy-some books, bringing my weeding total for the past
two days to 238, which is about thirty-percent of the total number of
books on my list.
My other success was starting and finishing a personalized reading
list. They only wanted historical mysteries, which is an actual
genre, so I didn't have to work that hard. It still took me at least
a couple hours to find various authors and read through the summaries
to make sure the books sounded interesting, but it certainly wasn't
the most involved list I have made.
I know that other things happened at work but nothing is really
coming to mind. It was a fairly slow, laid back day. Tonight a
parade went by outside. Every time there is a parade I'm on the desk
so all I can do is listen to the different marching bands go by. I
guess everyone had to have lights on in some way, so it sounds like
it would have been interesting to watch. I was on a walkthrough
during the tail end of it so all I saw was a boat with green
Christmas lights. And I guess as I was parking after dinner I saw a
family ride by and their bikes and helmets were covered in Christmas
lights. So I didn't miss out completely.
Near the end of my shift tonight I looked through some of the
cookbooks I pulled and thought looked interesting. I started taking
pictures of some of the recipes that I thought I might actually try
sometime. I didn't quite finish so I ended up checking a couple of
them out so I could work on it at home. Which I did. Now I just
need to go to the store and buy ingredients. I need to go sometime
this weekend for bread so I should pick a recipe to make. Maybe one
new recipe each time I go to the store. Seems like a fairly easy
goal. We'll see if the motivation lasts long enough to make it to
the store.
Tonight I watched YouTube videos and took pictures of recipes. An
exciting evening. Tomorrow my plans are to do laundry, finish
reading Shutter Island, and then tomorrow night, go to my
coworker's house for a movie and game night. It should be a pretty
good day.
