This morning I slept in. Always great. Around noon I loaded up my
car with laundry and headed over to my Mom's house, with a brief stop
at Jimmy John's to grab lunch. The majority of my afternoon revolved
around laundry.
While the clothes were doing their thing I finished reading Shutter
Island. It ended kind of like I remembered from the movie, I
think. But I thought I remembered several different endings, so
who's to say. It was pretty depressing but as a whole I liked the
book. And now I can watch the movie again.
I also watched two episodes of Westworld. Now I think I'm
only three to five episodes behind. Not bad. I still enjoy the show
but I like it better when I can watch more than one episode at a time
because there is a lot to keep track of.
I brought one of the cookbooks I checked out and while I watched
Westworld I started typing out some of the recipes. I hope
that someday I will actually make some of them.
Tonight I went out to one of my coworker's house for game night. It
was my first time going out there and I made it there successfully
without any wrong turns. Impressive. I left a little late but still
managed to be the first one there. Once everyone else had arrived we
played our first game, Avalon. We played it twice and I don't
know how successful it was. The bad guys won both times but it seems
like a game that is kind of stacked against the good guys.
Our boss and her husband left after that game and we switched to
Pandemic. I liked that game because it didn't require me to
secretly be good or evil. I don't like role-playing, but cooperative
games where we're trying to save the world from a pandemic are pretty
funny. And we won the game, so that made it even more fun.
My sister made me the soft pretzel bites to take, along with a spread
that tasted just like a cinnamon roll. It went over really well.
Every time people refilled their plates there were pretzels on them
and they all told me to thank my sister for making them. I also ate
way too many. But they were delicious.
I got home shortly before midnight, ate more pretzels, and watched a
few episodes of Bob's Burgers. And now I'm going to go to bed
because it is one o'clock in the morning and I am tired.
