I slept in this morning and then I read a couple chapters in one of
the books I have checked out. Then I spent the rest of my morning
and the majority of my afternoon sewing. I tried one of the more
advanced projects in the small quilting projects book I checked out
and that was probably a mistake. It did not go well. At least in
terms of ending with a final product that closely resembled the
example in the book. It was successful in that I ended up with
something that is kind of a thing. It was also a learning
experience. I learned how to sew a binding around a project which is
pretty useful. I also learned that working with folded in half jelly
roll fabric is a pain in the butt. Also useful.
Tonight I did laundry, watched YouTube videos and Stranger Things
on Netflix, and played No Man's Sky. Stranger Things has
sucked me in. I didn't really know it was a thing until I started
seeing references to it online. I like the 80s aesthetic and I am
intrigued by the mystery. The casting is also really good, which I'm
not surprised about considering the track record Netflix has
established with their original shows.
With No Man's Sky there was an update when I first loaded the
game. I checked the patch notes and they mentioned they had altered
a bunch of code that the game would work on AMD processors. That
sounded promising, so while I played it on my laptop I re-downloaded
it on my desktop. I spent the majority of my play time tonight on a
single planet. I finally figured out how the number puzzles work and
I got sucked into solving those and following where they led me.
When I finally pulled myself away from that I opened up the game on
my desktop, just to see if I could get past the initial screen where
it has been crashing. And the game worked. It seems like they have
actually fixed it. That is exciting. I'll have to play around with
it more to see if it will actually play without crashing, but
progress has definitely been made.
I'm not sure what is on my agenda for tomorrow. Probably more of the
same. Minus the sewing. I kind of got my fill of that today.
