There aren't any scheduled tests in the lab this week but there are
still some kids that need to finish so I had several of them in the
lab throughout the day. We're getting closer to being done.
This morning I printed out all of the MAP reports for the classes who
have completely finished testing, which is most of them. I think
there might be three classes that are still finishing up. I really
need to get started filling out my spreadsheets. I would usually
start that as I got the scores but now that I don't write them down I
have kind of gotten out of the practice. The end of the year has
really crept up on me. There are just over two weeks of school left,
which just sounds ridiculous.
I worked on slides for the slideshow today and I finished all of the
ones for the kids who I have pictures for. I need to come up with a
title slide and make the post-credits slides for the retiring sixth
grade teacher. I also need to start dumping slides into my video
editing program and get that ball rolling.
I ended up not volunteering at the library after work because the PR
lady had a meeting. She emailed to tell me this and mentioned the
job openings again and I told her I had my resume and application
ready to go. I asked her where I should take it because when I took
my volunteer application to the main desk they acted like they
weren't entirely sure what to do with it. She told me to take it up
to the guy at the administration desk and said he would be expecting
me. So after work I stopped by and gave him my resume and
application, which he then walked back to the director. The head of
the adult services department, who is also the mother of a kid at the
school I work at, wasn't there today but the PR lady said she was
going to start reviewing applications soon.
Tonight I added several quotes to my notebook and I started working
on my Spencerian penmanship. I am using the Platinum Preppy because
it has an extra-fine nib and I want to keep the lines thin. I might
also use the 0.25 pen I have because that would be even thinner. I
started by reading some of the theory book but when it got into
describing how to write the lowercase letters I stopped and moved
over to the copybooks. Or the printed version of the copybooks that
I made. I need to work on the individual lines first, before I move
on to actual letters.
I did a decent job at drawing the first line and got better as I
went. I'm trying to hold my pen in the suggested manner, which is
taking a bit to get used to. When I try to actually write words
while holding the pen like that I have very poor control over it and
my writing looks worse than it does already. But I'm only on the
first line, so I'm going to stick with it.
Now I'm going to go to bed. Tomorrow I'm going to do things. Sounds
like a pretty good plan.
