Today was a very quiet day at work. I had one class in the lab first
thing and then my next one wasn't until two o'clock in the afternoon.
I also had one sixth grader come in to test but she was quiet and it
was as if she wasn't even there.
I spent my quiet time being productive. I worked on editing pictures
for quite awhile and got a couple pictures of the retiring sixth
grade teacher finished. Or nearly finished. I also tracked down the
song that he suggested for the slideshow a couple years ago because I
thought it would be a fitting one to play during his pictures.
This afternoon I started working on my MAP spreadsheets and I think I
got three classes done, minus typing in how much their score changed
from the Winter test. Because I added in the links last time I only
have to input the scores on the first page for each class and they
are carried over to the second page, but I still need to manually
type in the difference and put the up/down arrow or equal sign
depending on the score. The plan is to get all the scores added in
first and then I'll go back and do the change in score thing.
Today was the walk-a-thon at school, which I did not participate in
because I still have a lot of work to do, and because it was really
hot today. When the first kindergarten class came into the lab this
afternoon they walked right in from walking laps. They were all
sweaty and red-faced and stinky. But most of them were well-behaved
because they were worn out. So I can't complain too much.
I realized at some point today that my drivers license expired on my
birthday. I figured it hadn't because I never got anything in the
mail. I was pretty sure they send out the book and test before the
license expires but apparently not any more. After work I went down
to the place to renew it and found out that portion of the office was
closed, even though they were supposed to be open for another
forty-five minutes. So that was annoying. I'm going to try and go
in the morning when they open. While obeying all traffic laws so I
don't get pulled over.
Tonight I wrote more quotes in my journal and worked on my 52-degree
angle lines. Sometime after dinner I went over to my friend's house
because she is in town. We went and got slushies at Sonic and then
watched an episode of Dexter with her boyfriend. We'll
probably be in our fifties by the time we finish this show.
According to her math we've been working on it for about seven years
now and the frequency at which we watch episodes has only continued
to decrease. We'll get there.
Now I'm going to finish writing this so I can go to bed.
