Tomorrow is going to be rough, I'm calling it right now. It's after
one o'clock in the morning, so let's make this quick.
There was more MAP testing today. Two tests in the morning and one
in the afternoon. It got a little confusing at times during the
morning tests because by the end of it I had over sixty kids in my
list. This made it difficult when trying to find the right kid to
pause or retest. But we all got through it. Well, there are still a
lot of kids that need to finish their tests, but we got through
another day of testing and no one went nuts. So that's positive.
After the test in the afternoon I had a kindergarten class in the lab
but that was it for non-testers today. In my free time I briefly
helped one of the office ladies try to figure out how to reset her
old phone so she could give it to the other office lady. She ended
up getting locked out of the reset option because she tried the wrong
password too many times and had to call Apple. I think she
eventually got it figured out, though the last time I checked they
weren't able to connect it to the Wi-Fi. My mom has been having the
same issue with her phone in the building. I think maybe too many
devices are connected to the network. I don't know.
I also had time today to make a few more slides for the end of the
year slideshow. I am thinking I managed to do something else today
but it's not coming to me and I'm not going to wait for it.
After work I stayed for about fifteen or twenty minutes to help the
yearbook club kids get on the computers. There ended up only being
two meetings this year (the third was canceled due to weather) and
the kids only added digital stickers to the candid pages, unlike last
year when they took pictures and arranged the candid pictures on the
pages. I think next year the kids could take pictures again but I
think it is better when they don't arrange the pictures. The
randomness of their arrangements last year drove me nuts.
On my way home I stopped at Target to buy things. They have moved
things around, which I'm not a fan of. Despite that, I managed to
find everything I went in for. That's always a plus.
When I got home, my Amazon package had arrived. I opened it up and
took out the glass dip pen and the ear syringe (that is used to flush
out fountain pens) but left the illustrated Harry Potter
book. I'm going to have my mom wrap it for my birthday so I'm not
tempted to read it and neglect that last few days of the semester.
Tonight I worked on the group
project. I compiled the Google Doc stuff into a Word document so I
could add in my table. Google and Word do not get along, apparently,
because I had to redo most of the formatting after pasting into Word.
I ended up adding a short paragraph before the table just to set it
up a bit.
Then I worked on the presentation.
I still need to get the slides from one of my group members but I got
them from the other two so it was a start. Initially I played with
the idea of making a logo for the library to put on each slide. I
got distracted by that for awhile but never got it looking how I
wanted. I ended up going with more of a brand than a logo, with just
the name of the library, that I put at the bottom of all the slides
to tie them all together.
It took me awhile to get the other
group members' slides formatted but it took me even longer to figure
out what I wanted my slides to be. I came up with three, the last
two including chunks of the table I made. I'm still not entirely
sure what I am going to say but that is what I'll be thinking about
at work tomorrow.
And now it is almost 1:45AM. As
noted earlier, tomorrow is going to be rough. The good thing is that
it is an early release day, so I might get to take a nap after work.
That sounds very appealing.
