I didn't come anywhere close to waking up early this morning.
Technically anyway. I woke up several times, starting before six
o'clock, thanks to the dogs barking at absolutely nothing, but I went
back to sleep each time. Or at least continued laying in bed,
thinking about things.
After lunch I went with my mom to dump off a bunch of cardboard at
the recycling place. Then I went to Target and Pet Co, stopping on
the way home to mail a letter and schedule a haircut. She was able
to get me in about thirty minutes later so I went home for a bit and
then went and got my haircut. It was much needed. I don't like the
fact that I am losing my hair and that it has thinned out quite a bit
on top, but I do like getting my hair cut short. I think it looks
better and I can drive with the windows down and it doesn't get
messed up. Twenty dollars well spent, although I still think it
should go down in price relative to the amount of hair on my head.
When I got home from the haircut, I watched some Battlestar
Galactica and eventually ate dinner before going to work. On
Battlestar Galactica I made it to season four and finished the
first episode, which I believe was a two-parter, hour and a half
thing but they bunched it together on Netflix like it was a movie.
The show does a really good job of making me really dislike
characters but giving them enough redeeming qualities to make me feel
sorry for them when they die. It keeps happening over and over
again. I think after I finish the series I may watched the failed
half season of Caprica. I watched an episode or two of that
when it was on TV but I think it will make more sense now that I have
seen Battlestar Galactica.
At work I did the same old thing. I forgot to copy the pattern for
my sister's name so that was annoying but I was able to finish the
border for the first letter. It seems a bit square all on its own so
I am going to double check my numbers before I continue.
I continued reading my high school friend's book and I started
reading Under The Dome by
Stephen King. The previews for the show intrigued me and I figured
the book would probably be better. Unfortunately it is over a
thousand pages long and I haven't been reading much lately, so there
is no way I'll finish it before the show starts, but I'll give it a
shot. I've only read one Stephen King book previously, Dreamcatcher,
and I liked it so hopefully the same happens here.
I also made it to season four of
Doctor Who. But not
quite to Donna Noble, just the Christmas episode before season four,
with the Titanic and Kylie Minogue. It is a good episode but I don't
like how almost all the nice people die and the one asshole (not
counting the villain) remained perfectly unharmed. Such a shame.
I got off work early and took the
long way home with the windows down and the music up because the
weather was amazing (thanks to an incoming storm) and I was in the
mood for a drive. Not a long one, but enough of one to feel the wind
on my face. It was nice.
