Today I had to go into work at 9:00AM for a 10:00AM show. And then a
10:10AM. So I got there, turned everything on, sat around for an
hour, watched the movies start, and then had another two and a half
hour wait for the next movie. In all the between time I did stuff.
I watched the end of Man Of Steel.
The special effects were pretty cool and it at least looks like this
could be the movie that brings Superman back from movie obscurity. I
did realize that I'm not that impressed by cool special effects at
the moment. They may look amazing, and get better every year, but at
least when it comes to super hero movies, the novelty is being lost.
I want humor and good story.
Throughout the day I watched Reaper,
read a little, and worked on my latest cross stitch “Handle Your
Shit, Lady”. I made it to the 'L' and probably would have finished
but I ended up having a couple phone conversations with my friend.
He has been having a bad week, from losing his wallet to having a
couple chainsaws stolen from his landscaping business, and having the
brand new chainsaw break after fifteen minutes. We ended up talking
about a bunch of stuff and it was good to hear from him.
After work I ate the second half of
my Chipotle burrito and then went to hang out with the new volunteer
kid. It ended up being pretty good, hour-long visit. First we
dropped off a job application at Subway and then went to Sonic to sit
and talk. We talked a lot about food and he mentioned the stuff he
liked to eat at his kinship placement and also the food he liked that
his dad made. That was the first time in a long while that I have
heard him say anything positive about that placement and probably the
first time ever that he has said anything positive about his dad.
Progress, maybe. As for my drink this week, I got an orange
watermelon limeade. It actually wasn't too bad. Better than last
week.
A little while after I got home from
the visit and I went to hang out with my friend and watch Dexter.
We watched that and talked about stuff and she gave me my belated
birthday present (three small paintings). I think we have one
episode left of whatever season we're on. It's the one with Colin
Hanks. I did not see the twist coming at all. Didn't even think
about it as a possibility. Way to go writers. I would write more
but it is freaking late now and I have been up for almost nineteen
hours, without a nap. I'm going to take a really long nap now.
