This morning planned to wake up early and I kind of did that. My
alarm clock went off for about forty-five minutes before I finally
got out of bed. I was okay with that.
After getting ready I loaded up my laundry and everything else and
headed over to my Mom's house. While my laundry did its thing I read
and watched TV. I also had Terraria going on my laptop,
farming presents. It was a fairly uneventful day and it all went by
fairly quickly.
Tonight I went over to one of my coworker's house to play board
games. I didn't know most of the people there but I knew a few of
them and had a pretty good time. We played several rounds of Avalon,
which was one of the games we played last time. I didn't do much
better than last time, mostly because it is a game that is better
when there is a lot of talking and I don't talk a lot in front of
people I don't know, but it was still a good time.
Then we played Betrayal at House on the Hill. That was an
interesting game. You build a creepy house at random by discovering
rooms as a group and then one of the group becomes a traitor or
monster and the rest of the group has to complete a certain task in
order to defeat the traitor. We played two rounds and both were
apparently not great because we hit the haunting, where someone
becomes a traitor, really early both times so most of our time was
spent focused on beating them rather than exploring and getting items
to help. It was still fun, though.
Following that there were a mix of short games. We played a dice
game called Tensie, a card game called Phase 10, and a
super short round of Love Letter: Batman, which I didn't
really get the point of but it happened.
Then midnight happened. We watched the local thing on TV, which was
not exciting in the least, had some sparkling cider (or champagne for
the drinkers), talked about random stuff until about 12:30AM, and
then I headed home. Overall, it was a good time. I enjoyed myself
way more than when I have gone out to the bars or something.
It is now after two o'clock in the morning and my nose is cold
(probably unrelated) so I'm going to go to bed. Thankfully I don't
have anything going on tomorrow so I can just hang out at home. The
Christmas event is now over in Terraria so I think I am going
to give Farming Simulator a try. I have wanted to play it
forever and it was on sale in the Steam winter sale. I got the one
that is a couple years old now because it was at least half the price
of the latest one and two years newer than the one that I originally
added to my list. So in my mind I came out on top. Hopefully I like
it.
