So it's June. Technically the second day of June because it is after
one o'clock in the morning. I ended up sleeping in a little bit,
maybe until nine o'clock, and then I worked on finishing my website
evaluation. I wrote my one page summary, made my reference list, and
added in another screencap. All before lunch, so I reached half of
my goal. I needed to not only submit the report I made but also post
my table to the discussion thread. I'm not a fan of how the
professor has the discussion posts set up. The main problem seemed
to be the fact that we can't see any of the posts in a thread until
we post. That is kind of annoying because I would like to know what
people have posted before me so I don't end up saying the stuff, or
in the case of this assignment, reviewing the same website.
Thankfully no one had picked Steam.
The posts being hidden is only one problem, though. I would say the
main problem is not being able to edit posts once they have been
posted. For submitting my table, I cut and pasted it into the the
text area, and it looked decent, but when I submitted it, there
weren't any borders and it looked kind of scrunched together. I
didn't have a lot of confidence going in that the table would look
that great in the thread so I also attached a PDF of the report I
made. It looks like some of the other people also had this thought
because most everyone also attached their reports, either in their
initial post or in a reply to it after they saw how messed up their
original post was and discovered that they couldn't edit their post.
Hopefully both the hidden thread and the ability to edit will be
changed in the near future.
After lunch I worked on my actual discussion post for this week about
web standards. I think it turned out pretty well. In the next few
days I need to respond to two of my classmates posts. I know I have
to do that on the web standards thread but I'm not sure about the
website evaluation thread. I'll have to check.
Before long it was dinner, after which I spent a couple hours working
on my tables. I sanded everything down (so much sanding) and flipped
everything over to work on the other sides. For the legs I ended up
holding them upright so I could clear coat the remaining three sides
and then laid them down on two tiny pieces of wood on the one side I
clear coated the other day, so they wouldn't stick to the table. I'm
getting closer. I'm a little worried about running out of clear coat
so my fingers are crossed there. I might only do two coats on the
the side pieces just in case. I'm working on the top of the tables
now so I'm putting a little more effort into it.
After working on that, I took a break for the day and spent the rest
of my night watching YouTube videos and playing Minecraft.
I kept it in creative mode in the Nether because I was in the mood
to build and I made a whole bunch of progress. I finished the main
two rooms, the hall going to the nearby fortress, the stairs off the
big room, and hallway and stairs leading down to another room, which
I made, and then a hallways and stairs leading up to another fortress
I spotted while building a big glass box observatory the other day.
And it is all enclosed, so hopefully bad things don't spawn inside.
Although I did come back to a huge ghast floating around one of my
rooms, so hopefully that was a fluke. I still get random zombie
pigmen but at least they're passive. There are also a bunch of
zombie pigmen coming out of the portal in the normal world. They are
filling up the small building I built around my portal. I might need
to take the door off and release them into the wild.
And now it is after two o'clock in
the morning so I am going to go to bed. Tomorrow I want to continue
working on my tables in between reading a bunch. I have a lot of
reading to do for my management class. Hooray for reading.
