Today I was back at work. Reading for about seven hours or so. It
was an exciting day. I read a couple short stories and switched off
between a few of my other books. I finished Mother Tongue
by Bill Bryson and that was the only non-fiction I have been taking
with me. I might swap back in On Killing
which I started reading for the second time but it fell to the
wayside when I kept starting other books. Or maybe I can keep on
with the seven I am still reading.
Tonight was Chipotle night and it
felt like the first time in awhile that I showed YouTube videos.
Maybe we only missed last week. I can't really remember. I was so
focused on applying to grad school and then getting ready for my
interview that the last few weeks seem like a blur. It also doesn't
help that during the summer most of my days are identical.
Speaking of grad school, tonight I
filled out the waiver form so I won't have to take the introductory
technology class. It covered basic stuff like Powerpoint, blogs,
wikis, and search engines. The only thing I wasn't that familiar
with is the Canvas software that they use for classes but I found
some videos on YouTube and it doesn't really seem that confusing. It
is only a one credit hour class and I would have taken it learn more
about Canvas but I would have had to pay however much for the class
and that wouldn't have been worth it. I also trimmed down my
statement of objectives and turned it into a 500-word statement of
purpose for the new student scholarship. Hopefully I get that
because $500 toward my first semester would be pretty nice.
While doing all that stuff I watched
World Cup games. I wanted Australia to beat the Netherlands but they
didn't. So that sucked. I wanted Chile to beat Spain and they did.
I was happy about that for most of the match but then Chile kept
falling down and staying down to waste time in the second half and
that got old pretty fast. Right now I'm watching Cameroon play
Croatia and I don't really care who wins. I've got to wake up
earlier tomorrow for the kid movie tomorrow morning so I am going to
move to the fast forward option so I can see who wins.
