Today when I drove home from work it was 68 degrees outside and I had
the windows down and the sun roof open. Next week we are supposed to
get a lot of snow. The weather is an interesting thing.
I'm tired and today was fairly boring. Today was the last day for
testing and I had two kids finish up this morning. This afternoon I
had a sixth grader brought in by the principal to finish even though
she normally tests outside the lab. She finished her Math test right
as one of the second grade classes came in and even though she still
had to take her Reading test I told her to take a break and come back
when the second graders left. She never came back. I went and
looked for her but couldn't find her so I said screw it. The
principal even said it wasn't that much of an issue if she didn't
finish the reading test (which she hadn't even started yet). So
testing is done.
This morning I also proctored a geography bee test for the math
enrichment teacher who was out of the building today. The girl who
won the school geography bee had to take a test to see if she could
go on to the state bee. The girl who won is also the sixth grader
who takes forever on the MAP test and it is a good thing her teacher
decided yesterday that she didn't have to finish the Math test
because she wouldn't have had time to take the geography bee test
today. I was a little worried because it was a timed test and she
only had an hour to answer seventy questions. If that was a MAP test
she wouldn't have made it to the double digits. But geography must
be her thing because she answered all the questions in a half an
hour. I was genuinely surprised.
When I wasn't testing and didn't have classes in the lab, I worked on
spreadsheets. I made a lot of progress. Next week I should be able
to print off all the reports for teachers and maybe finish my
spreadsheets. I'm not entirely sure that will happen but we'll see.
Tonight I wrote my discussion post for my technology class. At work
today I found a website that has a repository of links to free 3D
printer designs, which I thought would be a great resource for
libraries with makerspaces and 3D printers. So I went with that and
two other resources that I believe were both in the book. Then I
commented on a post in that discussion before hopping over to the
discussion for my other class, answering a question someone had left
on my post, and posting a comment on someone else's post. Post post
post. I'll have to post again tomorrow and Sunday to make sure I get
all the points for this week.
After that I hooked up my Nintendo 64 and played a race in Beetle
Adventure Racing. The graphics look like crap, which I think is
partially (or mostly) due to the TV but it was still fun. I had to
stop after one race, though, because my left wrist and forearm
started hurting. I really can't play games for too long with a
controller anymore. It sucks.
The rest of my night was spent catching up on YouTube videos. And
now I'm going to go to bed.
