This morning when I got to work I
pulled books for both of my displays, took down the books that were
on those displays last month, and set my displays up. Displays
displays displays. I also worked on all of the first of the month
statistics stuff that I do. It was exciting times. While avoiding
doing other things I also made a quick sign for the LEGO passive
program that will start in a couple weeks I think. Procrastination
in some things makes me very productive in others.
I spent a decent part of the day
thinking about the conference proposal that I was invited to help
with. I think I made a little progress with all that thinking.
We've still got until Friday so the thinking will continue.
And that was pretty much my day,
other than the occasional summer reading patron. It was a very slow
day right before a holiday. At least it was slow upstairs. A nice,
quite day, which was great because I think I'm still a little sleep
deprived from this weekend.
On my way home I stopped at a
recently re-opened Dairy Queen for a frozen hot chocolate. I haven't
had one in years and that streak continues because their arctic rush
machine was broken, which also apparently doubles as a frozen hot
chocolate machine. Instead I got a small Oreo blizzard because I
felt I was already committed. I don't regret it (that much) but a
frozen hot chocolate would have been much better. I'm a little
worried about all the dairy I have been eating lately. It can't be
good for my kidneys. Unlike my absence of hot chocolate streak, I
would prefer to keep my kidney stone free streak going.
When I got home I ate my blizzard
and watched YouTube videos. When I was done with the videos I made a
delicious egg sandwich for dinner and spent the rest of the evening
watching Wonder Woman.
I liked it. The superhuman aspect of it, especially when they threw
in Ares, seemed a bit out of place given the period of the film, but
I guess Captain America
was kind of the same way. It was a fun movie regardless.
I got an update and the HTC Vive
should be here on Friday. It requires a signature to be delivered
and there is a good chance I'll be at work when it is delivered. I
didn't want to inconvenience my Mom or sister by asking them to hang
out at my house all day, but turns out there is another option. I
was able to change the delivery to the FedEx store, so I can go and
pick it up there after work, or before work if it comes in early. My
new computer will probably take two weeks at least to get here, so
that kind of sucks. I figured the Vive would take much longer to
ship. I used this as an excuse to buy a new processor for my current
desktop. It's an upgrade that I have been putting off but one that
should make my desktop capable of handling the Vive. And it's four
years old so the pricing is decent. The holiday kind of screws
things up but it should be here on Monday, possibly even this weekend
but I won't hold my breath.
It is now eleven o'clock and I still
need to catch up on my audio recordings. I'm going to try and do
that now but there is a lot to catch up with so we'll see if I can
make it.
