This morning I woke up at 6:30AM, which is a half an hour earlier
than normal. I ended up laying in bed for half an hour after my
alarm went off, but I always do that, so I was still a half an hour
ahead. I then took a shower and then went up to let the dogs out and
feed them. Following that I made my lunch, ate breakfast, got
dressed, and took the trash out.
At work today I probably should have taken notes. Not because there
was a lot going on but because it was that level of uneventful that
is very forgettable. I spent a lot of time weeding and was able to
finish my most recent section.
When I was on desk I spent my time making alternative signs for our
audiobook display. It's not my display but we just started it and I
came up with the sign, which was a cute dog with big ears and a paw
coming up to one of the ears as if it is trying to listen better.
Today it was deemed “too wacky” and not professional enough by
the PR lady. That's kind of annoying because everyone seems to like
it. And we've had plenty of “wacky” signs in the past. I am a
little worried this is going to lead to more restrictions in the
future. It's already hard enough trying to be creative with the
display template. My leading theory is she just doesn't like dogs,
because I tried putting a tiny picture of a corgi puppy with the tax
forms and that was also deemed not professional. I really wanted to
change the audiobook sign to a cat just to test my dog theory. But I
didn't. I made one with a baby, two with earn horns (which will
almost certainly be rejected), one that is a clip art outline turned
on its side of a hand next to an ear, and one that is just a bunch
of different drawings of ears. We'll see if any of them are
acceptable.
And other than that I helped the occasional patron, restocked both of
my displays, and looked at a couple issues of BookPage magazine.
After work I went to my Mom's house to feed the dogs and around seven
o'clock went to my house to eat dinner and record my audio journal.
When that was done and the video was uploaded I came back to my Mom's
house. I spent the rest of the night looking at boots and watching a
Twitch stream of Vern watching the Power Rangers marathon. He
eventually wanted to play games but the chat wanted to keep watching
Power Rangers, so he currently has the majority of his screen
the Power Rangers, he is in the lower right corner, he is
playing League of Legends in the upper right corner, and he
has his chat in between the two so he can actually see it. It's an
interesting setup. As for the Power Rangers, we have made it
to Wild Force, which is the season with the red ranger who was
recently convicted of killing his roommate with a sword. The only
appropriate way for a Power Ranger to kill anyone in real
life.
I think after this episode I'm going to go to bed. I'm freaking
tired and I have to wake up in the morning. Also, one of the dogs
just farted in their sleep. It smells awful right now. All the more
reason to escape to my room and my bed.
