This morning it was freezing outside and not too long after arriving
at work it looked like a snow globe outside. The snow didn't stick
to the ground but it was coming down in big flakes that almost looked
fake.
I had the thought to take notes today but then convinced myself that
I would remember everything. I do not remember everything. This
morning I finished up my homebound stuff. That included pulling
books for my final patron and updating the spreadsheets for all my
patrons.
I also pulled books for both of my displays, which are doing
relatively well this month. The bestsellers display doesn't really
count because that one already does well. I try to change it up by
adding a decent amount of non-fiction, so that hurts my numbers a
little bit probably, but it's still doing alright.
I resolved the issue I started troubleshooting last night regarding
the patron who couldn't return a few ebooks. Turns out with that
service our IT people can log in on the admin side and manually
delete books, which they did, and all was well.
I also finished my weeding section. I technically finished yesterday
but I had a few oversize books to pull. I also went through the
entire list again and doublechecked all the books that I had marked
as checked out in the catalog. The ones that were “out” and
still had a last activity date from years ago I marked as missing.
This afternoon I got a new weeding list and spent a decent amount of
time editing the raw spreadsheet to get it ready. I reordered the
columns, did some math, marked the ones that couldn't be weeded
because they are too new, and started going through and bolding the
ones I will be weeding. I still need to finish that last part,
reorder the list based on the Dewey number, and do some general
formatting to make it all look better. And then I'll print it off
and get started. It's got somewhere over 600 books on it. That's a
lot of books.
Immediately following lunch we had the Pinterest class. I was just
there as support but was able to jump in every now and then and help
out. I didn't check the feedback yet but I think the class went
relatively well. Hopefully the feedback backs me up on that.
And that was pretty much my day. All that I remember of it anyway.
When I got home I had dinner, which included a frozen meal. I
haven't had one of those in awhile. I debated making pasta but I
didn't want to be stuck with that for the next week. The meal I
microwaved was pasta but in a one-meal size.
With the rest of my night I did nothing but watching YouTube videos,
read articles, and click around the internet. One of these I'll do
something more interesting with my time away from work.
Now I'm going to record my audio journal so I can go to bed. I ended
up staying up until one o'clock last night watching Homefront
so I'm a little tired. And I open tomorrow so I would like to get to
bed at a decent time tonight.
