This morning we had the final two MAP tests. At least the last two
involving a whole class. There are still several kids that need to
finish, make up, or retake tests, but no more full classes. This can
be a good thing or a bad thing. Good if they come in when classes
aren't scheduled or maybe when their class comes to the lab. Bad if
classes get turned away because one or two kids are testing. I'm not
a fan of that. I don't like my schedule getting messed up and I feel
bad for screwing up other people's schedules. So hopefully all will
turn out well.
Continuing on with the MAP theme, I think tomorrow I am going to
start printing off reports for the teachers. I can't do it for
classes that aren't completely finished, or classes where I'm waiting
for tests to be deleted, but there should be at least a few that are
completely done. I'll have to check my records. I'm hoping there
are at least a few so I will have something to do.
The adventures of my cutout continue. I found out that yesterday it
spent some time riding in the elevator and it ended the day peeking
out from the side of the vending machine. That is also where it
spent the first half of today, which was long enough to scare several
people. Then one of the fourth grade teachers, the one who has been
moving it all over the place, moved it up to her room and spent the
day trying to get people to come up, in the hopes of scaring them. I
don't think that turned out too well but she did dress me up a
little. For awhile I was wearing a backwards baseball cap and then
when I stopped by, she borrowed a mouse ears headband from a para and
put those on it. They actually looked pretty good. I'm not sure but
I think the cutout ended the day in one of the janitor closets, in
the hope of scaring the night janitor.
When I wasn't testing or playing with my spreadsheets, there were a
few classes in the lab and I spent some time upstairs trying to
figure out a DVD. My favorite substitute got the DVD when she was in
China and it is about the Terracotta Warriors. The problem is that
it won't play the English version, only the Chinese version. The
English one just freezes up. I brought it home tonight to mess with
it some more and none of the programs I have worked. It looks like
the information is there but it is corrupted somehow and won't play.
I found a few documentaries on YouTube of the Terracotta Army so I'm
going to show those to her as an apology for not getting the DVD to
work.
All-in-all, it was a pretty normal day. I can't really complain.
After work I got Chipotle and then headed home to clean my shower.
It was way overdue and the final straw was the drain stopped working.
I noticed it this morning and decided I should probably do something
about it. The first step was to take the cover off the drain and
clean everything out. Then I poured in some drain stuff that I had
to let sit for a half hour. While that was doing whatever it was
doing, I took the opportunity to clean the rest of the tub and
shower. Tubs really weren't designed to be cleaned. They are on the
ground and just awkward. In a perfect world I think they would be in
the middle of a bathroom, at about waist height. That way you could
get at everything without completely killing your knees and back.
My burrito was really good tonight. As was the zucchini bread and
birthday cake. I've had healthier meals. I didn't have a visit with
the new volunteer kid tonight because he text me yesterday and said
he works on Thursdays now. Sometime this weekend he is supposed to
find out what his work schedule is going to be, hopefully during the
summer, so we can find a day that will work better for visits.
With my non-visit night, I did stuff. I messed with the DVD and
downloaded the documentaries, I added several rows to my purple
scarf, and I played Tera. I
made it to a dungeon in the game that I think I'm supposed to be in a
party of five to go on the quests. There is an option to go in the
dungeon solo and the mobs are easier but you also can't complete the
quests. I found this out after going through the whole mansion and
not finding the objectives. I then tried going in the five-person
version of the dungeon and made it about halfway through before
totally getting my ass handed to me. The mobs were way harder.
There is a matchmaking system but after waiting for awhile with no
one else showing up, I went in alone and learned a lesson. I'll have
to work on leveling up so I can hit it again when I'm better
prepared. But also keep trying the matchmaking thing so I can maybe
play it sooner with some other people.
Tomorrow I have work and then more
work. It's going to be a long day. I've been tired most of the day
and probably could have gone to bed at eight o'clock, and it's
10:30PM now. I just hope I can wake up right at the end of a REM
cycle so I'm wide awake and ready to greet the day. The theater will
still suck tomorrow night.
