Today was sadly unproductive. At least the majority of the day,
anyway. I was in one of those moods where I knew I should be doing
one thing but couldn't bring myself to do it so I avoided all the
other things so I didn't feel like I was wasting my time. If that
makes any sense whatsoever. It is kind of the same feeling as when I
want to do twenty different things but can't decide so I do nothing
instead. So rather than working on the slideshow today, I did a lot
of nothing. And took a nap.
At work tonight most of my time was spent knitting. And ignoring the
pain in my hand caused by knitting. I knew I wasn't going to have
enough yarn to get to six feet but my goal for the night was to get
to the end of the yarn that I had left. Which I did. Now I'm pretty
sure I need more yarn. The scarf is somewhere over five feet, may
four inches or so beyond, which is obviously shy of the six feet I
shoot for when making a scarf. But I think this is the type of yarn
that stretches over time, so after a bit of use the scarf my become a
bit longer. Or maybe the stitch is tight enough that the stretching
won't be a big thing. I'm going to get some other opinions and then
maybe go buy more yarn on Monday and knit like crazy to get it
finished by Thursday. I might actually have some yarn that is the
same color. Maybe. But it was purchased several years ago so the
odds of it matching aren't too high. So fingers crossed if I need
more yarn that it will be in stock and of the right color. I'll be
sure to take a piece from the scarf skein with me so I don't end up
with a blanket situation where it looks similar until I put it next
to the original yarn.
I watched the last twenty minutes of Godzilla
tonight. I didn't know it was about Godzilla fighting other monsters
so that was surprising. But it looked interesting. And maybe a
little cheesy. I'd like to see the rest of the movie to see how
everything fits together. There is a chance that it isn't cheesy and
it all makes sense. I will say that CGI people have definitely
gotten really good at destroying buildings. It is very believable.
Tomorrow is my brother's graduation.
I got a text from my dad tonight asking me to come over at 12:30PM
to take family pictures before the graduation ceremony. Hooray for
family pictures. The ceremony is at two o'clock, I think, and then
after we're having a barbecue at my dad's house. Hopefully it
doesn't last too long so I can work on the slideshow at least a
little bit tomorrow. My goal was to get it done this weekend but
that didn't even kind of happen. I wasn't in the mood to work on it
after the party last night or this afternoon before work. I think
maybe if I had opened this morning things would have been different,
but probably not. In the back of my mind I had the thought that
Sunday would be the big day for getting it done, completely
forgetting about graduation. So yeah. I need to get that done,
preferably before Tuesday so I have enough time to show it to people,
get their feedback, and have time to make any tweaks I need to before
Thursday. I have messed with the software a bit but I still have yet
to actually make a full slideshow. Hopefully it all goes as smoothly
as I imagine it will in my head.
